ZU-BEX for UK

Hi folks- just had a quick look on G-INFO and found G-LTNG (Lightning T5 ZU-BEX at Thunder city). In the C of A box (Certificate of airworthyness) it said ‘CURRENTLY AWAITING CERTIFICATION’. It must mean something, as XH558 and the Bucc at Scampton have the same text in the same box. Does anyone have any more info? It does not mean that it is awaiting certification in SA, as it is already flying over there.

Is this the one owned by Ian Pringle, who’d been doing a ‘Bucc conversion course’ at Thundercity prior to it’s arrival in SA….???

Well a T5 over in the UK would be nice but the CAA would not allow this.

and the Bucc at Scampton have the same text in the same box

Well in fact the Bucc at Scampton has not got any text in the aforementioned box unless I missed anything.

XR728,
If you look again at the status box you will see that G-LTNG was de-registered on 13 Feb 1997 as transfered to S.A.
At the time of de-reg the C of A was ‘awaiting certification’.

I would guess if you look up the civil reg of the 2 other ex-LFC Lightnings you’ll see the same thing, it certainley is for G-FSIX (XP693).
