I dont see BA introducing flights to the USA from either GLA,or EDI in the for- seeable future, With the code share aggrement with AA, this basically rules this out.
Kevin,
my previous post was based on the assumption that BA had an onward codeshare agreement with AA for domestic US flights.
If the BA/AA code share was expanded to allow BA to codeshare on domestic AA flights then regional long haul on the 757 might just become viable. This would effectively allow BA to target the passengers that CO are attracting so successfully to their EWR routes out of GLA & EDI.

Under the current BA/AA code share agreement, do BA code share on AA domestic US flights?

The light was going up and down like a bride’s nightie!
I tended more to over-expose rather than have murky
pics. 😮
Good job considering the light – the only one the over-expose is noticeable on is the FCA 757 Approach shot.

Interestingly now that BA are allowed to code-share with AA on regional UK routes, the viability of BA regional long haul are actually much better than they were during the 90’s when the GLA & BHX routes ran. Also the introdcution of the A321 on the Intra-European routes would free up some 757’s for it.
A 757 fitted out with a World Traveller + and a World Traveller cabin would be ideal for regional long haul.
The ideal routes for it would be:
GLA/EDI/BHX to JFK/BOS.
I have excluded MAN from this as they already have a BA 767 to JFK and an AA 757 to BOS.

But in my neck of the Woods, referring to the Times means a completely different news paper. 😉
Oh, you’re 100% correct there, Sandy.
No such paper as “The Times Of London”, N5552. You must mean “The Times.” 😉

I read the Times of London Article on the LAX-LHR flight – for a “respected” broadhseet they were worse than a tabloid – sh*t stirring saying that the decision was only taken because of the new EU compensation rules. I think that this is what the FAA are investigating – not that the flight operated safely in terms of the MEL and Type Certificate for the 744, but that the new EU regulations are putting commercial considerations before safety considerations.

Watch Ryanair up PIK-Bergamo to 2 daily the day’s GRE fly to Milan – assuming that is they ever get a second aircraft.
