Q. The reason for all the UK training for the GSM B767 and not yet in service?
A. A/C was delivered without baggage containers!
Not quite accurate. Needs to do the CAA proving flight next month before it can fly pax flights.
Also there’s a large number of containers at GLA with GSM on the side.
Robert,
I haven’t tried the metering modes yet – use evaluative metering.
However I spent some time yesterday messing around with the various other settings in Manual mode.
Look at how heavily exposed this pic of an Atlas Air Boeing 742F is.
This was shot at ISO 200, Shutter speed of 1/80, Focal Length 300mm and AV of 5.6
Have you tried adjusting the white balance setting from Auto to Daylight?
Like most things it’s probably trial and error, although all of your shots that you post are of high quality.
Mark
Possibly for this 742F that is missing an engine
Before the poll was posted I was certain I would vote for a seperate sub forum.
Instead I voted to allow each member to have a “photo diary” thread, which sounds like a good idea as a show case of each member’s work.
Mixed Mode flying – ie A320/A330 etc is a bean counter’s dream as the crews just need to be cross qualified on the various type’s operated by that airline, and it therefore reduces training costs.
However given the current price of oil and the fact that it is not expected to fall any time soon, the accountants are now looking for the most efficient aircraft that they can buy, regardless if it means extra training costs, which are more than offset by the fuel savings. This is one of the prime reasons why 1 manufacturers twin engine long haul aircraft are more in demand than the others 4 engined efforts.
Once the EU/US Open Skies deal goes through, & Bermuda II is scrapped, expect to see BA & AA getting granted Anti Trust Immunity for closer co-operation and code-sharing across the Atlantic.
Sorry if i sound like an idiot saying this, but why did they divert to Prestwick when its up north.
Prestwick & Stansted are the designated airports for dealing with incidents of this nature.
Brilliant Images. Do you know if there are any good locations for viewing low flying military stuff in or around the Loch Lomond area?
The Air Scotland 757 was flying this morning.
BA 735 sequence.
Nice pics. Are there many gaps for camera lenses at crash gate 3?
It operated the last shuttle north bound on Saturday night and the first south bound on Sunday morning.
Good anyway. Where were you??at the car park at the end of 23???
Yep.
The EK shots were taken from underneath the 1st set of approach lights on the other side of the main road.
The more I look at this photo, the more it seems (to me anyway) that those winglets are a half assed effort.
Will be interesting to see what APB manage to come up with for the other airframe that is going to be doing the tests. Probably a cross between the 737 & 757 winglets.
The A320 winglets are being developed after a request from JetBlue. They have had a number of US Transcontinental flights have to tech stop for fuel over the winter and reckon the winglets will improve the fuel burn on some of the 4hr+ sectors that they operate.
There are 2 different winglet designs under evaluation – the Airbus factory designed winglet and an APB designed winglet, although no photos exist of this one yet.
