Next Month, hope all goes well.
Any news on agni 5 test?
Then the UPA government came, carrying the ghost of Bofors. Denel was blacklisted and the other two competitions reset, the first of a dozen such rounds of blacklisting/reset.:(
Ironic how they have been involved in the biggest corruption scandals so far including the common wealth games fiasco… the indian public has been desensitized to corruption over the rule of the UPA.
I take back my critic of the MMRCA competition if it goes through without a hitch, atleast its not the repeat of the arty purchase and to think all this time the OFB had been sitting on all the papers to make the 155guns! they didnt tell because they were probably going to get comission for buying new ones..they should be privatised!
Well back to the MMRCA hope it goes through… and i hope they choose gripen NG for the next batch of 60 aircraft
India was best served by George Fernandez in my opinion.
had a shuddering thought this morning, i hope the MMRCA does not go in the way of the artillary competitions!
Well atleast the DRDO is not sitting on all the documents needed to build a MMRCa type plane.. unlike the the OFB with the arti!
Well notice the MiG-35 was eliminated because its radar’s range wasn’t good enough (despite its nose), and the Gripen because it couldn’t offer enough guarantee for the AESA development.
So I really wonder when people will stop with a statement that is sounding every time more dull…
first time i have posted anything about this, and its more about wanting to know what the IAF was thinking, i mean for them they evaluated all of the aircraft and their radars, they did not find the Rafale wanting so i just want to know more.
Wonder what the IAF made of the Rafale having a apparently small nose section and therefor AESA radar set…
Maybe they didnt care knowing that the SU-30MKI will be getting AESA as well..
I hope our good man Swamiji spare the Rafale & stop connecting its win to the Italian madam and start concentrating on this >$450million/unit scam tagging our Prime Minister’s Boss from Italy! :diablo:
Dont understand
The Brits have been very shameless with their claim and demanding their returns for “help”…..but Brit do not have that right to demand the gratitude and that is reserved for Russia, to whom India own the industrialization and almost every development after independence. Even the external border that India today posses and what Indians are taught in School!!! But they have not yet invoked their “Gratitude clause” with India where as the British media have already done that shamelessly for peanuts that British Govt have given India over the years!
But, it is equally shame full on the reason why Indian Government does not want the funds. Such “cover-ups” reminds me of the huge, flashy & costly billboards that were placed on either side of the road to hide the slums & the living conditions of the people during the last Common Wealth Games in New Delhi.
The politicians and people in high places are rotten in both countries! Its a common uniting factor around the world! :dev2:
So the UK gave India £1billion so that india could give the UK charitibly an order of 13billion? Wait isnt that considered a bribe? Can the minister who claimed it be put on record? If i was france i would wonder if it would be worth noting all of these confessions of semi illegal activities!
So basically one has potential to be great but isnt yet because too many governments were involved and messing up the management of the projects. They needed india to be the additional partner and actually drive the upgrade…
The other had all the upgrade but was slightly inferior in one or other respect, developed by a single country and had all the things required now but needed India to stay alive.. Hope dassault realise the oppertunity here and not mess up.. I also wonder if the upgrade of the Miraage 2000’s has been over priced and lengthened to compensate for the lower bid made in the MMRCA!
??
OMG.. My brain hurts by reading this!
I will take this as Media spinn and nothing else..
If this is official statements coming from BAE, they should keep stuff like this internal with its European partners.
You should have read the report from the Spiegel talking of how bad the decision made was and how bad the Rafale is…
But this is to be expected…
Its not only India, these seems to be a general trend in R&D where it is funded by government or local councils to be very academic in nature and not thinking of exploitation etc…
King fisher etc is a special case, they got rid of their low cost section try to go for the higher class market (like BA tried to do ) and are suffering for it… it was a critical and fundamental business error by the owners…
I think the article on HAL above seems to be a continuous public conversation about India R&D and defense production.
I think the resent report from CAG mentioning the fact that 70% of DRDO’s product have been rejected by the armed forces has kicked off the debate. You can imagine there are serious conversations being had behind closed doors..
do you have any links that back up these claims?
i too would like to see the vid of dassalt board chuckling!
