    RAW formats are better for manipulation and editing.. they are way much better..but i dont know what these guys use here.

    Wolve, mate i think you mean the Zone/cone of influence around the aircraft created by the compression step. The boundry layer thickness is usally less then a mm (assume flow to be laminar and it is not that much more when turbulant boundary layer is considered, prob one of the reason why trying to find out about the boundary layer is soo hard), and is not really that much to worry about when launching missiles. It is important for AoA and other AC performance issues.

    I can just imagine a bullit going to Turkey from Greece.. “please hold of the violations and invasions, our F-16s dont look clean so we are going to take time off and make them all pretty and clean.”

    could just be due to the angle of the pictures.. mind you they have had lots of tests recently.
