don’t know much about CATIA but I can’t live without Solid Edge and NX now:D
You are speaking klingon to me! lol.. i honestly have no idea what that is.. I am guessing its a dassault software similar to solid works etc ? used for automotive?
F/A-18 internation road map looks wrong, loving the LCH and the digital camo on the TD-2, seems that they have put some strakes/plates on the Sitara IJT do not remember those edges/plates from the very first set of pictures we saw of the SITARA dont remember them from the photos i have off it from Farnborough or Paris (cant remember which one)…
LCA looks cool but MKI still has it…
Are all attack helicopters and helicopters IAF, or will the IA get some LCH’s as well? does it even matter?
The Foland Gnat? ๐
Iยดl get me coat…:)
or the modern day equivilent or closest to it in the MMRCA competition, aka Gripen…(stretching the imagination)
You did say that Embraer is ahead of HAL in making fighter jets…something you have not been able to defend.
Not factually correct
I think she’s right about the landing gear, judging from the attached pic.
Request permission to laugh at this comment, please:D?
I believe most people with any sort of modern engineering background would strongly disagree with you:cool:
I think a lot of people with manufacturing background would kind of agree (that computer software has destroyed talent) if this was directed at the CATIA wielding comunity.
it veered off the runway. That is hardly a crash. The airframe was put back into service. There have been fighters with ACTUAL crashes that didn’t get derailed.
Anyway, its interesting that you should point out that particular accident only. Kind of shows what your mindset really is where nothing India does is good enough and has to be criticised just for the heck of it.
BTW, its a jet even if not a fighter- I’d like you to show me one Embraer fighter jet. Oh and the AMX is not just Embraer, it was only 30% or so of Embraer workshare.
Its not my mindset, I cant help it if HAL arent able to produce fighter aircraft after so many years trying. But I am not going to go on as a Internet warrior defending things (HAL) that should not be.
Far as I understanding the Sitara was only involved one crash so if you put up a picture of them flying what other crashes would I talk off? Or should I not say something because its made in India? Also read my comments again.
Anyway I still do not see a list of military fighter jet that are designed and built by HAL.
I have not said anything about the AMX or made any claims about Embraer having made or currently making fighter jets.
is there a problem with the Mig 35 OLS system? I am loving the concept of 360 IR detection ability, it is such a same that this is not on the Indian Mig-29s but they will be in service another few years so plenty of time I suppose.
Good to see HAL has not shelved the project after the crash, it has a quick initial phase but has not been in the news for ages..
This may be down to me not being a good historian or a good engineer but I did not think the above is a fighter jet…
Does it have to be a aircraft? there is (what seems to be) a stupidly fast boat from St Petersburg to the Peterhof palace…
Not military but would surely cut the long time it takes to travel from Andamans to the other islands…
Bombardier 415

but it is again a fire fighting aircraft..
swerve, the s-tank used the british L7.
of course matt, I’m ahead of you in engineering because I aced my history exam and you didn’t. that means I fulfilled my goals and you didn’t, and this degree in history automatically makes me a better engineer than you are.
impeccable logic from matt world. ๐
Well I claim neither to be a expert engineer a good engineer or a expert historian or historian.
Your very welcome to be a better engineer and as such i would be grateful if you could list all the great military fighter jets HAL has sucessfully designed and built…
secondly, we were talking about capability regarding a very specific job, designing and developing modern fighter aircraft, in which embraer’s capability doesn’t even compare with HAL/DRDO’s.
The difference between Embraer and HAL/DRDO is that Embraer is making comercially viable aircraft that are meeting performance criterion and able to compete with outside market. As was my comment before this snowball, Embraer is ahead of HAL but not enough to pull HAL/Indian Aerospace sector from its boot straps.
As to say that HAL has different goals to Emraer is also disingenious, if HAL thought it had a marketable product it would try and sell it ala ALH.
10 years time is ten years time, a lot can happen, and i am sure if HAL partners up with companies such as SAAB it will deffinately learn and improve.
I would be interested in knowing what modern military fighter aircraft HAL/DRDO have succeeded in designing and manufacturing.
But just realised you are absolutely correct I see the error of my ways, the IAF should contract HAL to provide the airframe for the home grown AWACs….
We should just carry on funding the BAe UAV and UCAVs let Industry Delivery what is needed….
Do not see the point of the UK spending shed loads on aircraft. Atleast not for the next 5 years, after the economy recovers they can go crazy…
Typhoon is more than capable for that…
If your “ideas” are whimsical, and not grounded in reality, how can they become a fact?
.
I am happy if you do not agree, if you think my ideas are whimsical prove that they are dont just claim it…
Like it or not simple fact is Embraer has set goals and met them and is a comercially trading company able to compete in the global market, HAL is not any where near it.
embraer’s sole experience in fast jets (well not that fast) is the joint production of the trainer class AMX. much like saab it doesn’t own the little things that go into an aircraft (even in the class it has mastered i.e civil airliners) and is more of an assembler, although saab does at least develop some of its tech.
HAL/ADA/DRDO among them have vastly more capability in a wide front of areas that embraer simply outsources from elsewhere. it surely makes for a good business model but I don’t see how it makes them even remotely interesting as a tech partner for HAL/ADA in developing something as complex as AMCA. to call them ahead is laughable.
but then you do have some strange ideas so can’t say I’m surprised.
It does not matter what you say of my ideas, wont change the fact that when it comes down to it, to pull Indian Aerospace up by its boot straps a company like SAAB is needed.
Hasnt it got something to do with the mission envelope and the G load the aircraft could pull given a certain weight and structural strength.
