So do about half a dozen european countries, US and Russia. Your point is understood but unnecessary.

From what I understand, P28 is pretty much going to be a version of the RUssian project 20380 but probably with Barak and Klub-N.

That is wrong and was only a rumour started by the farce magazine. The only known thing about P-28 is that it will 2500 tonn displacement corvette, unlike 20380 which is less than 2000 tonn fully loaded.

There were rumours of ELTA onthe PV-2 but never substantiated. The PV-3 is supposed to be the production version of LCA as the next 2 PV-4 and PV-5 are supposed to be twin seaters.

Sea, What experience do koreans have of building stealth ships? If IN decided to give european shipyards the offer then there must be a good reason for it. If it could China would also try their level best to access european/western or even russian tech that is denied to them, just that they can’t.

    1) The reason is the 10 year gap thanks to the cong govt in late 80’s to early 90’s when no ships were ordered. Within the next 4 years 4 nilgiris (leanders) would go. By 2020 all the G class frigates (3) and the R class destoyers (5) would have gone. IN is not just trying to keep the same strength but inclease the number of ships. So getting a little help from europe or russia is not such a bad idea.

    2) China?? What tech marvel have they ever produced?? Thailand regretted it badly after buying their ships. Other than desperate nations like pakistan, who buys warships from them? The idea is to get the latest tech from france/germany/sweden or russia not c-grade stuff from china. Once a few decent navies buy their products and give good reviews I am sure IN wouldn’t have a problem buying Hulls from China if ever required.

Korea or even Japan if they agree to sell would not be a bad option but I guess IN prefers european stuff (after all they were helped by royal and russian navy). IN and CG do use ulsan class design for their OPV’s.

Unless france is giving out Rafales for charity without any support and armament this budget will only fetch about 12 rafales. On the otherhand you could probably buy 18-20 sukhoi’s with everything.

If france is not too picky they could reopen the Mirage 2k-5 lines and produce a limited quanitity. Brazil could easily afford 22-24 brand new mirages with that money and IAF wants 40 more for immediate use. 64 aircrafs can keep the M2k-5 line open for a couple of years.

No but painting a wreck of a carrier is proof enough china can have any sort of carrier force in 20 years?? IF ATV is to be launched it would be without any fanfare.

Don’t you know? China will open up its coffers of c-grade products and sub standard knock offs of russian weapons to finland. What chances will scrawny vodka drinking russian’s have when the finns have the great chinese knock off’s blessed by herr Mao ? The J-10 shoots thunder bolts from BVR ranges at Sukhoi’s while the J-17 blundaar simply zaps any competition away.
