The M2k production line was offered to india in the 80’s. Only after they turned it down was anything offered to pakistan. The Marlin is a non starter as it has been scrapped and DCN was trying to sell scorpene itself to PN. PN seems to prefer the german boats though.

The US sale of F-16 and AMRAAMs come with a very strict verification regime to make sure that the technology does not fall into Chinese hand. France will not be able to enforce anything similar. Additionally these Radars are going to be fitted on a Chinese designed aircraft. No way it can be done without Chinese involvement. So you cant compare American sales to French sales. Maybe enough to tip the scales in favor of the Typhoon for the MRCA.

This is patent rubbish. US knows it cannot control chinese looking into the fighters if pakistan so wishes. They will hence downgrade the models severely. The French are doing the same. The RC400 is not comparable to what is being offered in rafale or upgraded in M2k to M2k-5/9 deal. The Marlin has no future and France will be hoping for a follow on deal of scorpene from India.

NEW DELHI: India is keen to further bolster defence ties with US, with more joint combat exercises to build interoperability, procurement of military hardware and pacts to ensure secrecy and end-use verification of American defence equipment.

But the Logistics Support Agreement (LSA), proposed by US over two years ago on the lines of its Access and Cross-Servicing Agreements signed with over 60 countries, is off the Indian radar screens for now.

This, in short, is the Indian defence establishment’s message for visiting US Secretary of Defence Robert Gates. With the UPA government still floundering to propel the Indo-US civil nuclear deal towards a successful conclusion, it does not want to further antagonise the Left by signing the LSA.

Under the LSA, Indian and American militaries propose to provide each other with logistic support, refuelling and berthing facilities for each other’s warships and aircraft, spares and other services on a reimbursable or equal-value exchange basis. With CPM leader Prakash Karat describing the LSA as ”far more dangerous than the nuclear deal” in its implications, the agreement has been stuck in the Cabinet Committee of Security for the final approval for quite some time now.

I dont know the intimate details of why GTRE is such a joke, however it doest not interest me much except for its end goal of powering the LCA.
