Nope, as I explained a carrier built in europe would be way too expensive. No thanks, I can wait for IAC-2 from CSL.
Sure if IN can find 4-5k spare sailors and $ 3-4 bil for aircrafts then KH is the way to go  .
Both Rafale and F-18 need catapults and cannot be used on IAC’s. It will have to be N-LCA.
Navy has never been interested in Kitty. Its too bi for them to handle. Just speed up the IAc and follow on’s.
It is likely the best solution. Russians just return the money and keep gorky. It will cause some problems for IN initially but GOI can start work on IAC-II faster. I am not sure what happens to Mig-29k though? IAf could use another squadron of Mig-29’s.
This seems to say so:

The offer came less than a week after India handed a 1.5-billion euro (2.2-billion dollar) contract to France’s Dassault to upgrade 51 Mirage-2000 fighter jets that the Indian air force bought in 1985.
Yup ASRAAM not AMRAAM. It might be meant to replace the magic matra 530’s in IAF service.
Well whatever it be, it was high time the upgrade was done and hopefully paves way for rafale. One article also mentioned Asraam as a possibility.
Well for starters, France operates no Mirage 2000-9, and its Mirage 2000-5 are not multirole.
I’d really like to see the details of the deal though, some up to date Mirages is always some good news!

I was under the impression M2k-9 is basically export variant of M2k-5 Mk-II?
The contract is expected to cover upgrades to engines, avionics, navigation systems, mission computers, electronic warfare systems and radars. The work will bring India’s 51 aircraft to the Mirage 2000-9-standard operated by the French air force, says a source in New Delhi. The service hopes to add 20 years of life of the aircraft, which were introduced between 1985 and 1989.
Already done. A costly deal too. Except the engine everything seems to be changed. M2k-9 configuration most likely.

A multi-billion Euro deal to upgrade India’s ageing 52 Mirage-2000 fighter aircraft would be the highlight of the visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy here from Friday.
Under the deal, worth 1.5 billion Euros cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security, the Indian Mirages would be upgraded to Mirage 2000-9 levels as flown by the French Air Force.
Even Better

Given the nuke deal’s likely collapse I would wager Rafale stands a very good chance. Russia has china as a captive market to whom US and Eu don’t sell.
Russian SSN’s have tracked it successfully. Nuke subs are still noisier than SSK”s.
IAF was after M2k-5 not migs
The USA isn’t the only one of the two getting ready for elections…
Republicans are the only ones worried about the result. putin has absolutely no worries.
