Its sad that the navy UCAV with minimal VHF, S BAND, L band and X band RCS could much like a semi autonomous tomahawk take out an S 400 much more easily than a F 22 or F 35 owing to its vastly reduced signatures and the fact its optimised against VHF type threats which JSF was not and the F 22 allegedly is ( I wonder about its faceting in regards to Raleigh scattering and its canopy and rear quadrant stealth in higher bands) yet here we are buying 3000 JSFs. Its a criminal waste of money when one also considers just lobbing air breathing harms (development cose say 3 billion) and firing these would be far more cosrt efective than flying f22s and f35s within sam range to drop bombs. Even worse how many s 300s will there be on a battlefield? 5 maybe 10. Surely lobbing 400 harms at say 500,000 each is more cost effective than fielding 3000 jsfs even factoring say 4 or 5 wars over the jsfs lifetime. One last thought. Is an attack by 70 tactical tomahawk to overwhem an S400 more cost effective than sending in 4 or 5 130-230 million jsfs?

Its probably true that history may vindicate Bush, after all its written by the winners but its still theft anyway you put it and im not so sure the Middle East is as promising as new allies when the U.S is a) of a different religion and b) stealing the resouces of the area, C) supporting most Arabs hated enemy, Israel.

    You know PFCEM,

you shouldn’t let your flag blind you. Who’s grateful? The entire Middle East consider a man who threw a shoe at Bush a hero. If everyone is so thankful foe United States “help”, how can this be? Are the servicemen’s families who lost loved ones fighting a war based on alie thankful? Is anyone if Afghanistan? I challenge you to find meaningful figures proving the United States is welcome in Iraq or Afghanistan. Oh a nd a few kids paid off in front of CNN by U.S troops they are terrified of doesn’t count…

    pfcem,

I haven’t laughed so hard in weeks. War on oil. I’ll tell you where the Iraqi oil revenue went. To BP, Shell, Exxon Mobil (American, English) etc and probably those generous donations to the Republican party which I’m sure you can find for yourself if you looked. If you knew your history, you would know those companies hold the current oil contracts “negotiated ” by that U.S imposed puppet Iraqi prior to recent elections; just like they did in Iran…You might also realise the entire Middle East knows this. As for the high cost at the pump for Americans… That’s because oil companies like to make money but they are predominantly American ones so its vaild to say America has stolen Iraqi oil.

As regards the low cost of the war on terror, even a high school economics student knows that you don’t compare budget figures to GDP. GPD doesnt go to the government, taxation revenue does (Thats alot less by the way… ).

Comparing military budgets to GDP is the thinking that bankrupted the Soviet Union and is crippling the U.S. It works if you are not already in debt; as such its a foolish barometer to use with the United States. By the way when the U.S government borrows each year to fund that military presence just as it borrows to cover the rest of its budget even a 100 billion saving by not having a war to line Halliburtons, Blackwaters’ , Boeing, and Lockheeds pockets makes a difference to your balance of payments. Grab an economics textbook, high school will do and learn that military strength needs a strong economy to back it up. It called capital goods vs consumer goods. In that chapter you will learn that capital expenditure GROWS an economy, wheras consumption does not. Wars are not capital investments. The war on terror will cost 1 trillion. For what? Don’t tell me Hallibuton (Cheneys old company) hasn’t benefitted from the greatest quasilegal redistribution of gov money in the last 20 years.
