Why am I bothering to argue against such stupidity?
I wouldn’t bother to be honest. I’m sure he’s a nice chap…But he’s just trying to flog a mule in a horse costume. He may be an expert (giggles*) of thinking up “plans” to retake the Falklands, but the British armed forces are experts of taking whats ours back, i.e the Falklands. So I know who my moneys on. 😀
Anyway, Argentina couldn’t retake the islands even if they wanted to.
Here’s some recent ‘shots in the dark’ from the authority that is F-16.net, enjoy: …and my favourite:
Yeah that last one is my favourite too.
f-16.net…Home of the trolls!
He didn’t claim that it’s a US site, but he said that we only need to go to F-16.net to get an estimate of the general reaction to the PAK FA of the US military aviation community. Trying to find US military aviation community on F 16.net…There are only 1 or2 fomer US F 16 pilots that post. BTW their positions are very balanced towards nonUS stuff.
“Very balanced towards non US stuff” my ar$e it is! I’d rather go through the pain of getting my shoulders, a bit of chest and both arm sleeves tattoos again than believe that…While some sadistic git is pouring lemon and salt on my wounds!
There is PLENTY of room for four Meteor in EACH F-35 bay. One on the ‘trapeze/air-to-air’ station, two on the ‘air-to-ground’ station & one on the outer door. Keep in mind that the bays are long enough to stagger the missiles…
I find that very hard to believe that there is plenty of room for four Metors in each F-35 bay! Two, yes, no problem. Three…Hmm at a push but I doubt it. Four, I very much doubt it no matter how well you organise them, can’t help but think that if theres four Meteors or AMRAAMs in each bay, they’re going to be ending up twating one another when fired. saying that, I maybe wrong but whats wrong with just having two Meteors in each bay? More would be nice but four is okay and besides, don’t want too much weight to luggage around especially when the F-35 is heavy enough as it is.
The Eurocanards are horrendous export failures. Sukhoi could easily rest on its laurels and keep offering the Su-27 for sale for the next 50 years if it thought its chief competitors were the Eurocanards! The French are basically resorting to selling the Rafale at a loss to Brasil just to get 1 export order to justify keeping the line open at all! The Typhoon is only slightly less of an export sales disaster, but thankfully Europe is rich enough to not care.
“Horrendous export failures?” France/Rafale possibly but I’m not too sure I’d go that far to calling it a horrendous export failure, still early days yet, give it time. As for the other two Eurocanards? Hardly.
Found this, might be a step towards a thawing in the source code wars – wondering if anyone has a clue how this equates to othe rannouncements made recently about UK access to F-35 source code:
Oh god!…That article sounds like the US is trying to tell & sell a sympathy story…
well….F-35 is actually a Gud copy of the Yak-141. Its compact and looks much better.
You missed the sarcasim, but anyway, so I guess you could say the same about the PAK-FA? Can you not? That its a good copy of the F-23?
no one of the rafale/EF/gripen countries will never build a “5 gen” fighter.. it will go for a 6 gen. Meaning: no pilot…this is beond 2030…may be some neuron derivate for a-to-g in small numbers.
Well I don’t know about France or Sweden, but the UK will always have proper pilots, (and not always have some person in a shirt & tie sitting in a office flying his whatever it’ll be), in its aeroplanes, yes they’ll have unmanned too but they’ll have pilots in the actual fighter/bomber. I’m aware they’ve made it clear on a few occasions. As I said before I’d happily place a bet on the next aircraft to replace Typhoon to be manned.
I believe Europe could do something like the PAK-FA etc, but as someone else pointed out, why the need. Europe has the brains and know-how and if anyone thinks otherwise then they’re just rather silly, and maybe they have the money, I believe they do, but, they just want to spend it on more important things and they’re hardly going to have a meeting around a table and decide; ‘Hmmm? Where can we spend our money? We could bulid & open new universities? No? ok. Hospitals, schools, new military bases?…Better equipment for our troops in Afghanistan? They could do with new gear? No? Ok…Ohh I know, lets spend the money on a brand new super duper stealth fighter!!!!! Done!!!
Hardly going to happen in the real world.
On http://www.F-16.net they claim its a bad copy of YF-23:rolleyes:
Just like the F-35 is a bad copy of the Yak-141, and they would on there, they’re a sour bunch that don’t seem to like anything non-American. A very biased place.
For a sixth time: All available and future (known that is) stealth aircraft DO NOT have canards. You say no and claim it’s debatable. No problem, I rest my case.
…have a nice day.
Actually…Those stealth fighters from the movie, ‘Stealth’ have canards, don’t they! There you go, I rest my case…Have a nice day! :diablo:
Please don’t take this post seriously! 😀
Of course we’re not here to be helpful. We’re here to take over the World!! and now we have the wonder-weapon to do it (the Su- ‘I’m Gonna Git You Sukka’– 50)…AND YOU’RE FIRST NORWAY!!
Shadowpuppet, have you been tinkering with ‘Kommersant’s’ pictures again?
LOL! Can’t help to think that you should change your name to the same as that guys on your avatar…JOKER!!! Lets hope your new toy can take over the world better than your cr4p Russian cars can! :diablo:
Nice picture btw! 😉
just out of interest, what things do you all think will change on the operational model?
China? I’m not too sure wheither China will have something “stealthy” anytime soon, I’m not saying they can’t do it, not at all, I think they’re just as capable as doing something like this just as anyone, I just have a gut feeling that they’ll just purchase PAK-FA’s and go on from there…Why not. I maybe wrong though and a bit of me is hoping I am because I’d like to see China take their own root.
Japan? Again they’re a clever bunch…But I think the Yanks would have something to do with it…What I mean by that is, “make them” change their mind and buy something American…Yanks seem to be quite good at that I’m affraid. And again I hope I’m wrong about that too as I would really REALLY like to see Japan come up with something and take their own root, I’m sure it’ll look quite dramatic like something from a Manga animated movie.
Any country in Europe? I think they’ll/we’ll come up with something by working together like has been done with the Tornado and Typhoon, I believe the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain (with France maybe?) would want to work together again to come with something to replace the Typhoon and I’d happily bet it’d be a manned aircraft, think of a Typhoon with no tail-fin, flat as you can get air-frame with canards blending into the its delta wing, that’d look rather dandy I think with its TV engines. I believe its safe to say it’d be something like that.
My 2 pennies worth.
Just out of interest and maybe a bit of a silly question, but, is it actually possible to fit rocket pods (like the those fitted on the Harrier) to the missile rails on the Tornado GR4? Its not impossible I guess and even with the swing wing…Just need to make some adjustments here and there?
Well, once it demonstrates that it matches the F-22, then we’ll have something to discuss. Till then, feel free to speculate.:p
Well, it can take off, I guess thats a start. :p
Comparing aircraft by generation is marketing BS!!!!!!!! It has no use in the real world when everyone has a different idea of what “Generation” means!
Exactly right!!!
I think the PAK-FA is something for only Russia to be proud of, not for Europe or for the rest of the world for that matter.
