Well thats something only “They” know & not the general public, but with all this “tech transfere” business between the Americans & British might be a good place to start….Makes you think doesn’t it?…

I’m not sure what to say about the PAK-FA, simply because I/we haven’t even seen it let alone what it can do, just rumours & what not, so I’ll hold back until we get some sort of…Well, whatever, pictures etc…

But ones things for sure, those Russians sure know how to keep us on the edge of our seats watching the time go & biting our finger nails while we’re wondering & waiting to get the first glimpses of their new toy. Those nasty little Ruskies, making us wait like this! LOL 😉 😀

The UK has never asked for the F-22 to my knowledge……..If, the did there odds would be just as good and the Japanese.

I don’t believe they have asked for the F-22, I don’t even believe they even considered having a look at it, sinse we were already getting Typhoon. But thats another story…Maybe their odds would be as good as the Japanese, maybe we could’ve had it, but if we did it’d be just a watered down version….Just like the F-35 will be….

Time will tell I guess…

The JASDF will likely get the F-35 and possibly the F-22…………..The Typhoon would be a long shot.

I wouldn’t like to bet on them getting F-35 or the F-22, to be honest, it’s a more of a long shot of JASDF getting the F-22 than it is the Typhoon.

Well, like I pretty much said on another thread, America doesn’t seem to want to share tech with their “Closest ally”, (i.e, the Brits) on the F-35. So sure as hell they won’t share or let them have all, or most of these highly sensitive “bit 2 bobs” the F-22 has with the Japanese. Thus it being an “watered down” version. If they do get it that is. :rolleyes:

Something else to add, I have an article in an aviation magazine laying around somewhere about the F-35, at the end of it, it said: “Although the JSF customers will have the F-35, they will never really own it”…It’s not word for word but it’s along those lines. (I’ll find it out, scan it & post it. If I find it!) which is very true, you don’t own anything if you need permission to use it……

It’s not a good deal IMO….

Put Japan in there too, it’s going to be very interesting what their choice will. Personally I think they’re going to go for Typhoon myself, Eurofighter are offering them a blo0dy good deal on them. Best offer they’ve had/have if you ask me. It’s worth looking up.

If, (It’s a very BIG “IF” I know) Japan does get the F-22, it’ll just be a very Watered-Down version anyway, nowhere near as advanced as the American version……..P*ss water! And if the Americans do decide to sell Japan their precious expensive super-duper highly sensitive toys built by god, they’re PROBABLY going to be arguing with each other for months, if not even years, about what they want, can’t have, have, workshare blah blah blah etc etc etc…then, Australia will jump in PROBABLY moan & groan about how the Yanks have sold the Japanese a bunch of F-22’s and not to them blah blah blah and just to shut them up they sell the Aussies them to keep them happy, (Tee he he I think not but you never know, everyone has a nice side to them, even the big knobs in Washington) then they’re PROBABLY going to end up arguing about what they want, can’t have, have, you let Japan have this thing but you won’t let us have it (or vice-a-versa) etc etc etc……Then Israel will PROBABLY do the same thing, then it’s just going to be one major sh*t storm!…..PROBABLY!!! Not saying it’ll happen, but it could…..

IMO, in the long run it’d be better to just go with something else, Typhoon, Rafale for Japan & whatever Oz wants…F-35 more than likely…
