Nice Profiles Dan! I ought to employ you for my website…seriously, do you take commissions?

To answer your question re: Sam Gevorkian seemingly flying another coded 55th Mustang…he was flying McGinn’s a/c on 26th August, when he ran out of fuel. McGinn didn’t have much luck with his a/c being piloted by other 55th pilots…Pete Dempsey also was downed in Da Quake (44-14291), to be made POW.

Just a mention – in Barry and Ann Money’s recent publication, The Warlords, Vol. 1, the profile for Da Quake 44-13954 shows the Olive Drab on Rudder and Da Quake nose art in Yellow, bordered with Green.

Look forward to the website Dave.

    PL,

Thought that Cargo nose looked familiar (talking about the Beech not being rude!)…

Just returned from Campbell River myself and managed to get a flight in the very same Beech 18…even blagged a seat next to the pilot…bless him (see attached).

Looks like the same pilot and he flew for a a good twenty minutes below 70/80 feet.

Did you get to see Plane Sailing’s sister Cat at Nanaimo?…I missed getting a photo..never mind, maybe next year..?

Morning all…a newbie amongst your ranks.

This thread caught my eye, as I’ve been trying to research these two P-51Ds for my website (http://www.55th.org).
Have attached 3 photos of 44-13954, that Sam Gevorkian was flying. Photos from the G. Schyler collection and published by Robert M Littlefield in his book Double Nickel – Double Trouble.

Anybody wanting details on Kestor, or Gevorkian’s crash and evasion, let me know and I’ll mail you.

Would appreciate any help in contacting Dave Kingshott…he’s proving elusive.

    Cheers,

    Russ
