What was the old scrapper everybody was on or near in the photo a poor excuse for a backdrop hey BWB. 😀
Going back to the old TFC photo what year do you think that was taken?
The bloke second from the end on the right he is still up there i think does a lot on their Hurricane bit of an odd ball if memory serves me correctly. 😀
Thanks for that SPEY 111 thats very good of you.
Love to see VZ345 rebuilt saw it at Brough as a source of spares for VR930, perhaps there is a straight rear fuselage in Iraq or elsewhere who knows.
As for the engine there is the bloke doing TFCs ” long term ” perhaps he could have a dabble one day. 😀
Does that mean ugly Steve?, i have seen some nice birds in Huntingdon along with the mingers!!!.
CAC 15 what a beastie spoke a guy in oz who managed to not only see the plane fly but also got a piece when they scrapped her.
No outer wings on the truck but the fuselage looked like it was getting there, engine was installed prop on cowlings fitted exhaust stubs on, who ever said it would be at legends was on something pretty good i guess. 😀
Perhaps there have been recent C15 finds thats long nose cased
Allisons by the way, Kermitt i am sure would also have some i would guess there are a few P40B/Cs in the States under- restoration not all coming out of Russia by the way,if TFC have another P40B/C thats excellent news we will have to wait and see.
Like most people on this forum i am very dissapointed but not suprised the P38 will not grace these shores, we will have to all remember the good old days when TFCs P38 was the most popular a/c in the collection, in fact the star of the fleet.
Without Mr Greys restrictions on weight of type we may well of seen a new P38, our loss is somebody elses gain for sure, but i am sure he will not let this case hold him back we have a P39 to look forward to.
Should all be flying for the 2005 season, they are looking at early april next year very early april.
They pushed their luck first time round i think they should leave it at that, because at the end of the day how much of the original is in GLACIER GIRL?.
Now with Paul Allen and under restoration in the UK, i think quite a few people have had a go at restoring the 190 but its in very capable hands now and will be done to factory finish standards.
Damn fine chap driving that jeep he also has retired or so thay say.
Hey Bentwingbomber that was bitchy i dont know you could, i hear a big black cloud has decended.
Yak 11 i think your spot on, David Arnold is slowly selling the collection off i dont know why he has bought greenham or part of it to store his a/c perhaps somebody can fill us in.
