just a quick question on the Backfire, does anybody know how useful the tailgun is? i’ve always wondered whether its just a dead weight… or whether it might be good enough to do something useful, like knock down an incoming missile.

It’s useful if someone comes close enough and the Badgers and Beagle’s certainly made good use of those tail cannon’s in the afghan war.

yes but Su-25 is operating down and dirty like the A-10. it needs a titanium tub and other armor. will the Su-34 be flying the same missions?

if not, Su-30s are still more cost effective.. one airframe. toilet problem can be solved with man diaper.

It can, but it’s mission is primarily that of the f-111 to penetrate enemies territory by low-level flight and use terrain masking so it’s armour is still handy.

It’s armoured, but only around the cockpit correct me if i’m wrong and not as ALA Su-25. if so I don’t really see the point in that to be honest.

From the looks of it she also probably handels herself better during turbulent conditions and overall a much smoother ride then su-30’s …that and the side by side arrangement is if i recall stated to be ideal for A2G role.

I still think they should focus on either Su-30’s or on Su-32.

The grey paint scheme is awful and whoever authorised it should be shot.

As pretty as the Su-32 AKA Charlize Theron is, and good god she’s a gorgeous bird. I’d like to know why they put her in service while the Su-30’s could have done the same job just as well.
