yes – spent some time in there and the food was good but the glass is tinted so not great for pics. Might have had better luck if the departure / arrival directions had been different. There were mainly using the long runway, landing towards the terminal. Departures were mainly on the runway that goes in front of terminal but some traffic also used the other fordepartures as well.
I have a Tamrac which have sufficient space for 2 camera bodies (1 digital + 1 film) 3 lenses (inc 100-400) batteries / spare cards + space for a laptop. (idea of you wish to take a laptop with you which I do sometimes.
Myself and others saw an aircraft land at Popham on Saturday afternoon and being met by an ambulence. Only after reading this and other reports I can only conclude that it was Neville Duke. A sad day indeed and he will be greatly missed.

There is a complete HP Herald at the museum at Bournmouth Airport – cockpit access is allowed!
Have seen the timings for Eastleigh (SOU) – Frankfurt – with only 1 rotation per day during late afternoon (4.55pm departure) this will not really attract any business traffic unless you want to stay 1 night. To be a successful business route it must have an early AM departure with an evening return to allow business people the chance of a day trip.
Paris timings are ok with early out and late back and will be in direct competition with Air France.
Can you also include Ken Dodd who is still going strong – very funny live.
Spike Milligan also deserves a bigger mention – he was a comic genius with ‘Q’ Goon show and a cameo role in ‘Life of Brian’

Now that Flybe have announced Paris – I can see Air France pulling out of Eastleigh (SOU) leaving no international connections to a long haul network. (without having to reclaim bags and check in again)
An ex work collegue of mine was seriously injured whilst doing some off road cycling. Despite wearing a helmet he was in a coma for several weeks and suffered brain damage to the extent that he could no longer walk unaided or look after himself. 2 things saved his life a) wearing the helmet b) being found after the accident by a neurosurgeon (luck or what) who was able to get him to the right place for the best treatment very quickly. OK so his quality of life is less than it was before the accident but it is better than being dead. With physio and proper long term care his condition is slowly improving (he can now walk again)

I travelled through FCO a couple of years ago as a pax and the level of security in the terminal was intimidating to say the least. You migh be better off under the approach but even then you will almost certainly attract the wrong sort of attention.
Eurostar,
the pic of the warbird area was taken from the Tri-motor flight – we were on a tight base leg before an even tighter and shorter final – having seen the aircraft do a circuit it was a priority to get a seat on the right side (on boarding) No baggage (or food & drink) is allowed on board but it is locked up in a secure ‘box’ at the departure area and you get it back when you land.
Much of that collection is now at Moron – I visited the museum in 1996 and there were a lot of interesting aircraft there + even a raised seating area for civil photgraphers.
