Tenthije – well done – that is what I was refering to. I had not noticed until a dutch spotter pointed it out as it taxied past.
The yellow is down to my photoshop skills (or lack of them) 🙂 – it looks fine on home monitor but does look strange on work one.
Turkish charters are regular and it is nice to see some companies that do not visit the UK often (at least my part of it)
Well said Stringbag – the only reason people call it Southampton is that nobody has heard of Eastleigh.
thanks for the comments – they swopped ends shortly after hence the rest are all (bar 1) landing from the left.
Did not think of the Fokker as a taxi (but do now) – how would you hail one 🙂
Nobody spotted the 737 answer yet ? – it is obvious but people see what they expect to see. Nothing to do with winglets though.
Andy,
stayed at the Sheraton on top of the car park – very convienient but not the cheapest! – There is an Ibis which is pretty close but have not tried that. As there are good links to the city it might be worth looking there and taking the train to the airport. For eating the place opposite the aviation shop + terrace entrance is pretty good.
As somebody who sometimes starts photo threads any constructive crititism is always welcome. Any photographer, beginner, pro or anything in between should be willing to accept that there is always something to learn from others. We all have our own methods, camera settings etc which may or may not benefit others but the only way to find out is to try.
Seahawk,
If you were at Duss over the weekend then it is possible we may have ‘met’ – spent Thursday on the terminal deck with some time at the station mid afternoon. Friday went to Cologne by train and again spent a couple of hours at the station on returning. Saturday was spent on the terminal deck as runway direction had changed (mini UN meeting with germans/dutch/english/australia all represented) Sunday was spent at the station as it was not a nice day before flying home in the afternoon.
The road that BA aircraft cross is closed but you should still be able to get to the industrial estate – its just a longer way round. (back of hangars etc)
Railway station terrace is close to runway – (300 yds maybe) but the taxiway is between terrace and runway and aircraft are very close. The EK was too large for lens hence the front shot. (yes they do get everywhere)
Have just got a 40GB X-drive for £90 which is very good
Were you on board at the time? – I have larger versions taken from the RAW file on home PC or the original jpeg that was sent to photobucket and then resized by them. Drop me a pm with an email address and I can send the jpeg today.
I know that you can fly in a Catalina in New Zealand
The BN Trislanders flown from Eastleigh are all single crew and they carry a max of 19 pax.
yes I am sure that is what happens. I Have been there for a few years now – before the days when money changed hands – so membership of myaviation was ‘automatic’ when it was set up and the anet upload page has a button to select if you want a picture to be sent to myaviation.
myaviation does not have a rejection policy unlike the other well known sites. However if you upload to airliners net you can choose to have the image on myaviation as well, even if the airliners.net one gets rejected.
