I seem to remember a similar incident with an AF concorde after a departure from New York, ie tyre burst causing a fuel tank to rupture (hydrostatic shockwave?) but it did not ignite. This led to BA adding extra protection to the underwing surfaces to reduce the risk but AF declined to do so. I would also question the regularity and thoroughness of the runway inspections as an inspection before your ‘flagship’ departs would seem like a good idea.
Old shape – yep you are of course correct with the scoring. Agree the 100 is much easier that the 10pin (best is only 268 and I have no idea how I got that) Have twigged that it is all in the wrist so can sit down and play this.

Old Shape,
managed 12 in a row on the 100pin last week – left one standing on the 13th end – oh *******

Have just got back from seeing Avatar – wow! – what a magnificent film. Stunning graphics and the 3d was excellent. Certainly on a par with Star Trek but that was a known format and characters albeit the ‘early years’. Avitar was so different which may give it the edge – its sucess at the box office is no surprise and would expect a Oscar or 2 to be headed its way.
If you only see 1 film this year make it this one – you will not be disappointed.

Virgin Atlantic from Miami to LHR last year. Seat allocation lost (ended up in last row. middle seat) food inedible, drunk & loud pax (1 woman) which crew failed to act upon.
Excellent pictures – if you do not belong to a camera club then join one as your talent would be very welcome.

Why does the UK security need to be any more restrictive than it already is? This extremist was travelling from Lagos via Amsterdam not the UK. He was also on a watch list so why was he not picked up at that point. The ESTA form that all US bound travellers must complete and get an approval to travel is another aspect of US securty that failed.

Top Gear is pretty much the only thing that is worth the license fee however this series has not been particularly memorable so far but the xmas challenge across south america should be good. To me the best bits are the interaction and banter beween the presenters, something lacking on 5th gear. Star in car is a little tired and does depend very much on the guest involved.
