First was an ZX81 with the awful touch sensitive (not) keypad – added a very clunky keyboard to it + a 1MB upgrade!.

C64, followed by various Amigas – now running Windows ME PC Athlon 1.7

Don’t forget to include the Miles M52 – a British design that may well have broken the sound barrier first had it not been cancelled at a late stage. The all flying tail on this design was incorporated into the Bell X1 which did break the sound barrier first.

Melvyn / Colin, (nice to see you btw)

here, here – it was an excellent day to start the season off – long may the good weather continue. Lot of interesting visitors but safe to say the AN2 was the star.

An aviation society I am involved with got given a couple of boxes of books last week. Some very interesting finds including a Canadian civil register from 1959, Auster production list up to 1965(I think), various Air Britain publications, a Charles Brown book on aviation photography, SBAC show programmes from 1966 and other years – all in all a very nice donation.

Most of the things I would say have been covered previously – ie very expensive on airshow days, shows esp Legends very similar from year to year, food dodgy & expensive. old shop expensive. Having been involved with an aircraft that was based there, the attitude of some and only some (some were great but it is always the unpleasent ones that are remembered) of the people there were downright rude and unhelpful and has done nothing to make me want to visit again.
