    Steve,

only in the fact that if they had smiled I would have been sweeping bits of makeup out of the meals 😉

The price was not too bad – if you average out the number of flights each cost less than £90 – not bad considering the mileage was over 23000.

yes it was tiring especially the last few days but well worth it – pictures will follow when I can start processing them.

yes I record all the flight details on a spreadsheet – over 250 and counting with 18 more to add from a recent trip (see trip reports)

A friend on mine was involved in the Arnham events as part of the DC3 crew – he had a great time and was deeply moved by the humbleness of the veterans. The crew and the veterans were treated like royalty by the dutch and the depth of gratitude they feel towards the veterans is something special even after all this time. Having the local children ‘adopt’ a grave of a fallen soldier is a tradition that I am sure will continue for a long time.

The cheap fares to Toulouse were available for mid november when booked on Monday. The English tour is on a wednesday with french on Friday according to Airbus but (having done the tour a few years ago) goig on a Friday is ok.

One of the 747-300 being used by Iberia (Air Atlanta) is ex PP-VOC of Varig. It had a double engine failure last week en route to JFK and returned to MAD after 2 hours.
Somebody I know was on the flight and that is what they were told by the crew.
