Have also seen the film and found it very entertaining. Don’t forget there are a whole generation of people who have not seen the original series and will not be able to compare it to that. Character depiction is pretty good and captures a younger Enterprise crew very well. Who knows it may lead to a rejuvination and more films (2 more planned i think?) The film fills a gap in the Star Trek chronology coming after Enterprise but before the original series where the crew were already well established. Nice touch to have Chris Pike in there as well as this relates to the original series.

Saw Stark Trek on Friday evening – excellent pre-quel with good action scenes and humour in places. Could see a follow up being made. 9/10

Angels & Demons was also good and followed the book quite well with a couple of major differences. 7/10

If central govt gave local authorities enough money to repair the roads then they would be repaired it is as simple as that. Unfortunatley that does not happen because the majority of money given to local authorities is ‘ring fenced’ and has to be spent on education / social services / healthcare etc with road maintenance way down the list. Local authorities never get the money they need to cover everthing and have to raise their own funds (council tax) to cover any shortfall. Being a Conservative led county council you can imagine how much we get screwed by a labour govt. We have had our central govt grant reduced by £40 million over the past 5 years yet still have to provide the same level of service or better just to meet targets set by central govt – something has to give and the infrastructure maintenance is one of those areas that is first to suffer.

XM692 – our stand was on the same side as the mini railway but further to the right – (next to Aviation Hobby Shop. Walked along that area several times for emergency tea and doughnut runs!

Have been at Popham for the last 2 days with Solent Aviation Society stand – 500+ aircraft on Saturday, much fewer today. Approx 900 vintage vehicles booked for Monday so wx permitting it could be a good one.

Saw 5 of the 7 stored there – so if anybody knows all 7 the missing one would be useful. Saw D-ANNB,D,E,F&I. It was 2 in the cargo area that could not be read off. Wx was not the best but was still a good couple of days. I think a fellow forum member (Deano) was the co-pilot on the outbound trip (BE1985 SOU-DUS)
