Another problem is the actual cost of operating any form of flying machine – the bigger and more complex they are, the more expensive they are to a)maintain b) operate and c) insure.
A group I know of has an airworthy PBY and find it very difficult to get sufficient funds to operate it regularly. I am sure it would have been very welcome at RIAT but the operating costs & logistics may well have been prohibitive.
Arthur,
that is the one – it looked in a poor condition when i saw it at Monino in 2001 ( I have pics on a.net of it) and will be interested to see if it has deteriorated any more. The wings were there behind the hull but are slowly being swallowed up by the grass.

I only have 1 Gemini model – a UPS Md11 😉 but i have several of the Corgi die cast – mainly the BOAC ones and the BBMF set and a B17 Memphis Belle – great to look at but they do take up some room
There is an Italian executive jet – I-RONY and of course the Irish registered aircraft – EI-EIO
G-RAIN is a Maule Rocket
There is also an american company that owns a exec jet – N1KE – I wonder who 🙂
The Beriev VW112 Bertolini is very bad.
I would link to a picture of it – there are a some of it at Monino on a couple of well known piccy sites

Many years ago I went on a trip to the French AF show at Chadeaudun followed by a French Navy show a Landviseau.
Problem 1 : the ferry had a technical problem which delayed us by approx 6 hours meaning that we got to Chateadun about 1 hour before it closed but at least the weather was good.
Problem 2 : because we were so late arriving and therefor departing, by the time we got to the overnight hotel it was very late and there was nowhere to get anything to eat.
Problem 3 : woke up to find the weather had turned very nasty but we went to the show anyway only to spend 8 hours huddled in a hangar trying to keep warm and dry. Few static exhibits and the flying aircraft were parked a long way from us. Not that anything flew during the entire day!! – even the birds were walking.
The majority of my pictures on this site (those taken after May 02) were taken with a Minolta D7 – quality is great and I can get A3 & A4 prints from these images.
It has a 28-200 zoom which covers 90% or more of the aircraft I take picture of and is imho a great camera. It is not quite int he same league as a DSLR but then it does not cost anywhere near as much.

Shortest flight is between Westray and Papa Westray – islands off the Scottish coast. A/c type is/was BN Islander (Loganair) with a flight time of between 2 and 3 minutes depending on wind conditions. I beleive it has been done in 90 seconds though on a very windy day
A man is about to get married to a gorgeous girl and a few days before the wedding he pops round to see her. Unfortunately she is out but her younger, even more gorgeous sister is there.
She is wearing a very short skirt and bikini top and starts flirtiing with the bloke. She eventually confesses to having a massive crush on him and would like him to make love to her.
Girl goes upstairs to bedroom, man opens door and walks to his car. He is surprised to find his future father in law there who says “well done for passing the temptation test – if you can refuse my other daughter then I know you will be faithful”

I also remember a HapagLloyd A310 making a very heavy landing at Vienna (i think) after a flight from Greece – I think they had a gear problem and flew part of the way at lower altitude so fuel consumption was much higher than planned.
