A passenger in first class woke up to a shock when he found himself sitting near a corpse on a British Airways flight.

Paul Trinder, 54, said cabin crew moved the body of the elderly woman from the economy section where she had died after take-off, the Mirror and Sun tabloids said.

“The corpse was strapped into the seat but because of turbulence it kept slipping down on to the floor,” Mr Trinder, a businessman, was quoted as saying.

“It was horrific. The body had to be wedged in place with lots of pillows.”

The woman’s daughter was also upgraded and spent the rest of the nine-hour flight from Delhi to London grieving next to her dead mother, the Sun reported.

The Guardian newspaper said the incident happened last week.

British Airways had apologised for any distress, according to the reports.

The Mirror quoted BA as saying: “We apologise, but our crew were working in difficult circumstances and chose the option they thought would cause least disruption.”

Are you even aloud to do that ???

Excel maybe but Astraeus are not a Tour Operator themselves, more of a contactor for flights no??

Maybe Excel and Monarch could merge and we end up with “the big three”?

It is true that Astraeus are not a tour operator , although Thomas cook use Astraeus for charter flights as well as a few over tour ops , with the merges this could affect them.

It dont surprise me after the merge of Thomas Cook and My travel.

It does leave very little competition. Im guessing excel and astraeus wont be happy to hear about this.

The state of the Russian domestic airlines doesen’t seem to be too healthy. People keep criticizing the state of the airline industry in Africa, i don’t see how the EU has taken up this issue yet with Moscow.

    Simple it’s Russia

When i was about 7 , we flew with Laker (the second comming owned by some texis oil guy) and we had to land in newfoundland , Canada. That was boring. as there was like nouthing open and it was just all closed down. but then i was just a kid.

That piece of land costs £1.5m a year to rent, I guess WW & co feel they can do more with the money, especially as there is a real Concorde permenantly at LHR.

There was a plan to house G-BOAB inside T5, but I gather that proved impractical. As far as I’m aware it’s current location is where it will be for the forseeable future. Maybe the T5 entrance roundabout wouldn’t be such a bad location.

    1L.

Honestly £1.5m for a bit of grass inside a roundabout , what ever next

118 people have survived , Not good for aviation in Indonesia at all ,with the two adam air incidents in the last few months this does not help.
