iranian AF official claim that F-14 fleet being retrofit with “home made radar and engine”.
surely he mean russian radar and engine.

Not necessarily. When Iran domestically manufactures parts they call it an “upgrade.” And those domestic parts could of course include modest improvements to certain things.

I don’t see why more Supers aren’t simply bought and cancel the F-35C?…

How many years from service is the F-35C, vs how many years from service is the UCAV?

I’m still agnostic about that underwing “weapons bay.”

He doesn’t say “in each bay”, he says “in the bay”. I read that as 4 total internally carried.

Otherwise, I would like to see how 4 Meteors could fit in the bay below:

PS. Kapedani ironically the aircraft you have shown doesnt have any new revolutionary technology on it as someone already pointed out it is mixture of old technologies.

The same could also be said for the F-22. Plenty of previous aircraft had one or two of its “defining traits”: super maneuverability, stealth, internal weapons bays, excellent sensors, super cruise. But it puts them all on one platform.

    😎

Are there weapon bays outboard of the engines as Aviation Week said?

The thing circled could be an engine pod on the ground, however it slopes down in the front, which differs from a regular Il-76 engine:

    http://www.aerospaceweb.org/aircraft/transport-m/il76/il76_10.jpg

It kind of resembles a Il-76PP with the front of the fairing removed:

    http://www.airliners.net/photo/Russia—Air/Ilyushin-Il-76PP/0909403/M/

However, the top of the object is farther below the fuselage color change line than on the confirmed Il-76PP.

I think Occam’s Razor says some sort of engine pod laying on the ground….

Ares Blog claims there are two “underwing” bays outboard of the engine nacelles.

Where exactly are they? And it is unclear what they can hold….

Are they behind the main landing gear? And what can they carry? R-73 and R-77?

Whut, the mighty Gripen NG is not up to it!?

Actually I suggested quite some time ago that Norway should:

    1. Buy (or lease!) Gripen NG
    2. Develop a 5. gen PAK FA killer together with Sweden, South Korea (and perhaps Brazil?)
    3. phase over to the new a/c if/when Russia starts flexing her muscles with PAK FA :p

The reason for suggesting this was that I suspected that “the F-35 would not be up to it”.

The politicians did not listen to me, of course. They never listen to what I say. 🙁

Why does Norway need a PAK-FA killer? It doesn’t have a Flanker killer….

Because they are not there for helping, their there for re-implementing the oppressive regiems, go to the links, I posted, I’m not crazy, MY COUNTRY unfortunatly doesn’t help black people out of love, they do it out of “ECONOMIC” interests.

Let’s not forget that Haiti will be the new location for the Guantanamo Bay prison, and where Dick Cheney can finally bury the evidence that he brought down the Twin Towers.

SA-2’s can be force fired and manually fused. And they have changed about twenty times over the years. The SA-2’s that live on today are not the same as the ones used in the skies of Vietnam. Plus its not always military targets they can be used upon. Isreal can and will be concerned.

They can be used as surface to surface rockets as well.
