I had a quick look at the First Choice website to see if they had given details of the larger seats. No info on that, but what I did find was that “legroom” on shorthaul was 28″, and 29″ on long haul. No doubt that is to be improved – but describing seat pitch as “legroom” is a bit naughty, isn’t it?
Apart from the accident aspect, I was very surprised to read that Emirates were buying seven year old aircraft from other airlines.
Singapore Airlines “hand me downs” – not quite what Emirates would like publicised I think:o
Well……………..as much as 40-45 minutes on a bad day:p
(i.e. in the Summer when all the grockles are here)
There are some interesting combinations if you ask http://www.expedia.com (not .co.uk) .
Welcome back Kabir and Steve.
Haven’t flown with VN, but would be happy to – Viet Nam is on my list of “must visit”. Their website is quite interesting.
Excellent pic, Moondance! Now you can all see the full extent of my world. Today we shall be travelling across the whole width of the Island to Tesco – but I’ll have to give the car a good check over first.;)
Thanks for the info Ren Frew, I’ll follow that up.
Thanks!:D
“I’ll have a look for it” Ho! Ho! Not through four thousand five hundred Posts 😮
Give me a clue, Al:)
FLOOD: Thanks for the pic and the interesting info;)
Ren Frew : My e-mailing is as bad as my photography:mad: …. I need to suss how to get a pic down to acceptable size, but I have a feeling you’ve already covered this in an earlier post – I’ll have a look for it.;) Thanks.
Well done Ian. My respect for you is even greater than before!:D
Mark and Flood – you guessed correctly – here is a local news item:-
Armed police arrest man in Freshwater
A man has been arrested and bailed after an operation involving armed police in Freshwater. Officers were called to an address in Solent Gardens just before 6.00pm last night to investigate reports of a weapon being seen. A police spotter plane and dog unit were also alerted. A 41-year-old man from Freshwater has been bailed until June on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm.
And you all thought the Isle of Wight was peaceful…….
Yes, good report – bad luck on the return. I really enjoyed my flights on the Dash 8 between Southampton and Bergamo last summer, and was only let down once when we had to wait 4 hours for a replacement 146 to arrive from Southampton.
There have been some comments on the reliability of the Dash 8’s – does anyone know what the common problems are?
Well, after the weekend’s football results they won’t be calling it “United” or “City” will they?:D 😀 😀 😀
Good on you Arthur – you’re bringing some sanity and interest back into the Forum:D
Well he appears to have found a home to go to – maybe given up on Bembridge and spending the night on Southampton.
Could be worse, it’s a horrible night to be out!
