RE: Top Telly :: Collision Course
For Stellios,it WAS Christmas!
RE: Favourite Soviet Built Aircraft?
Well, Sam, you may well be right, although I am not sure that I would trust published statistics before,say,1990.
But I have to admit that I would not be totally happy flying to SGN for instance with Aeroflot. You might think that is a stupid attitude to take, and you may be right – I often fly quite happily on internal flights in the Philippines!!!

RE: Favourite Soviet Built Aircraft?
But would you be prepared to fly in one ?????????
RE: Using photos
Thanks for that!
RE: Imagine if you actually had to pay for that airline food.
Reading those posts, my wife just commented,”People want the meal because it takes up time”. Didn’t understand at first, but it does make sense.
RE: Where was I ?
Aah,EGNM,I took away your glory!
Yes it does exist,on Palawan,”Last Frontier” of the Philippines, Wonderful place.
I’ll post again with details of my trip, but for the moment, to confirm, it was :
737-300 Philippine Airlines PPS-MNL
737-200 Air Philippines PPS-MNL
LET410 Seair PPS-El Nido
It’s “batbay” by the way – derived from Barry at the Bay.

RE: London – Prague flights
According to dialaflight.com this month would be around £100 + taxes.
RE: Where was I ?
Very close SAAB. But only three movements?
RE: Where was I ?
733 not Thai, 410 not Asian Spirit, not Manila – only three movements that day. But you’re on the right track!
RE: Baggage overweight?
Thanks for all your advice/views.
I’ll post the experiences etc when we return to UK at New Year.
In the meantime, here’s wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas!
RE: A few pics for Saab and Wysiwyg.
Saab, Sorry to be a long time answering – had some shopping to do. We are a bit east to see flights in/out of Bournemouth although I have seen the occasional 737 making its way in. The location we are in does, however, mean that there are lots of flights outward (LHR?) going directly overhead. This was my first summer here (moved back f
rom Spain) and I hope next year to get some interesting photos.
As far as I know, the first Sunday flight between Bournemouth and Bembridge was cancelled due to fog this end, and I don’t know if any more took place.
Regards
RE: Baggage overweight?
Yes,wysiwyg, one of the reasons I raised the point was that I enquired what the charge would be if we were overweight – this was to a Far East destination. The figure was £49 (or about 75 dollars/euros) per kilo!
An outcome to this, which I will expand upon if anyone is interested, was the relative cheapness of “unaccompanied” baggage provided one is willing, and has the time,to extract from customs at the destination.
RE: Baggage overweight?
The cells are sealed and contain..er…..Butane. (But Boots sell them airside).
I like to be sure about these things as when I was in the Army some guys from my Regiment tipped an unemptied vehicle battery over aboard a RAF Hastings Transport and the Boys in Light Blue got VERY cross!
