BA to MNL – not even code share (I just checked to make sure), which seems a strange omission. I have only once been on an aircraft to/from Mnl that wasn’t just about full and that was on LH leaving Mnl just before midnight on New Years Eve. Best economy flight ever – there were about 40 pax.
I saw a documentary on OFW’s (Overseas Filippino Workers) recently which gave the number of OFW’s passing through NAIA as 2600 per day, which would make BA’s decision even more questionable.
BA no go Manila no more!
Yes, thats a really excellent review almost as good as trying out Thai for myself – perhaps it’s actually better! The 34″ seat pitch is my main reason for considering Thai for our next trip to Manila, in common with Malaysia Airlines.
I want to try another airline, so far done the trip on Emirates, BA, KLM, and LH(twice), but there’s a temptation just to go LH again – it has its faults, but I always feel that I’m flying in a very professionally operated aircraft.
And what about the strangest mixture in a c/s? I was in Nice a short time ago (excellent viewing from the new Terminal) and in front of me on the stand was Aeroflot 734 VP-BAI. The fuselage is painted in the most boring scheme possible (arguably), but the engines and fin looked like an old hot rod paint job depicting flames. Wierd.
I’ve only just seen it Wys, and as I have said in the past, you always come up with the goods!
As far as the censorship goes – well thats modern Britain for you. I can think of a number of variations on the theme that would have been allowed because to act otherwise would be contrary to a minority groups rights. Enough said.

I think Mongu just made the perfect conclusion to what has been a heated discussion – why not call a halt and all remain friends:D
There might be an interesting sideline to this thread – my reply was based on the assumption that everyone has a passport (or identity card); this comes from living in Spain for some time, and habitually carrying my passport (know what I mean Keltic?). Now back in UK I still carry my passport most of the time, although I do have my UK Identity Card – which is referred to as a “Driving Licence”.:(
Britannia Airways, Man – Syd and back. Say no more.
Don’t worry,it’s a good system. Actually, with most e-bookings, you won’t be asked for the reference – they just check your passport.
Enjoy the trip!:)
Well, since the question was not specific to commercial flights, I consider my favorite flight to be one scrounged in Borneo many years ago. It was to drop supplies to troops in the jungle close to the enemy border, and the possibility of enemy AAA made it necessary to use the terrain for cover when approaching the DZ.
Very exciting!
Wysiwyg, are you making the subtle suggestion that we shouldn’t vote for our favorite aircraft on the basis that they look pretty?;)
Thanks for all those. I may be going back to Genoa shortly, so if I do, I will get along to the airport and try to find out if the Piaggio is actually flying a scheduled route.
Regards
B
Yep, just absolute Italian Style:cool:
No probs, thats what I thought you meant. My comment related to what I think may be differences in the aircraft pictured, and going on to the obvious source of aircraft pics I found that there are indeed differences in the type. But I don’t want to go too deeply into the detailed model history!
Going back to my original comment that it sounded good though, I found that one is a corporate aircraft for Ferrari:D
