John,
Air Britain DA100 – DZ999 has Beaufort DW804 as being with 22 Sqn before being S.O.C. 13.12.44

Tim
Dan,
Thanks for the e-mail address, I have tried that one previously and the e-mail has bounced back. I will try again!
Kind regards,
Tim
John,
Thanks, that is a fantastic photo. Whilst I was hoping for a confirmed 22 A.A.C.U. machine it is worthy of some follow up.
Kind regards,
Tim
John,
Is there any chance of seeing the Vengeance photo? It may be of some interest to a project started many moons ago and languishing in the bottom of a filing cabinet awaiting its phoenix from the flames moment.
Kind regards,
Tim
Hi John,
No further information really but link might help

John,
I believe the ‘US’ code was used by No.2 Squadron of the Indian Air Force. In fact the Lysander was used by the Squadron from 1941 – 1942.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Tim
Martin,
That would be a great help, thank you for your assistance. PM sent.
Kind regards,
Tim
Thanks for sharing the painting Lindy’s Lad, very nice indeed, 4 AGS one assumes.
Seafire – I think we are now in the realms of a general Martinet thread and long may it last 🙂
Bentley – See the photo above, which is Woodley – Martinet sections about to meet the torch!
Thanks one and all and please keep them coming.
Kind regards,
Tim
Laurence,
My understanding of the lineage of the ‘TO’ code is initially 61 OTU this unit redesignated 203 Advanced Flying School (01.07.47) codes TO, UU plus others then redesignated again (01.09.49) to 226 OCU where the TO code was continued.
I was under the impression that 228 OCU carried the ST code, but I stand to be corrected by others more knowledgeable than me. Will dig out the old EM700 photo to see if it has a date but believe it was only on strength of 226 OCU from 10.03.52 before transfer to 12 M.U., Kirkbride 05.02.54.
Kind regards,
Tim
Thanks Mark and OneEighthBit
How about this bonfire shot from Ken Fostekew, believed Woodley late 40’s early 50’s. Can anyone add the detail, Nov 5th?…….
Regards,
Tim
Laurence,
Thanks for confirming that.
Regards,
Tim
Galdri – Thanks for the link, Ken Fostekew at the Museum of Berkshire Aviation has been very helpful regarding MS902; although the service photo would have been great if you ever recall where the original came from please keep me in mind 😉
Chumpy – Thanks for sharing MS912 FJU of the CGS based Leconfield at the time (but not necessarily taken there) but when did the Tempest TT.5’s come on strength? Martinet Trainer also a fine photo PM sent
Mark 12 – Can you confirm any additional detail on the colour photo, it is magnificent
Mean_Machine – Would be very interested in a photo of the rudder pedal assembly as also trying to collate a register of known Martinet relics. Thanks for the ‘heads up’ on the WARG display. I have been in contact with them previously and have details.
Thanks once again for all your replies and please keep them coming…….
Kind regards,
Tim
