Further the AM’s post that scrubs the Beaufighter TT.10 and reviewing what limited info I have on the Meteor TT.20 that is a no go as well so perhaps a chute release is now more likely?

As an aside Anon raises an interesting query as to who manufactured the Type B MkIIa & b target towing winch?

    Hi Rob,

It is not Martinet but resembles the pilots jettison lever from a Beaufighter TT.10. Unfortunately I do not have a clear image of the lever installed but may be worth following up? I could of course be way wide of the mark!

    Nice piece all the same.

    Speak soon

Yes it’s amazing how much Master they retrieved, Rob!

    Mothminor,

Many thanks for the photographs and as you say a very impressive collection of Master parts, I can feel a visit coming on. They also appear to have two control column rubber boots………..if only!

    Thank you once again.

    Hello Alan,

Yes the spade grip is yours as is the column. The control box is stored at the moment as I hope to concentrate on the fuselage fabrication this summer, I just need to grow an extra pair of hands.

Once again thanks for all your assistance over the past few years.

    Regards,

Thanks one and all for the kind comments. The plan is to attach the front cross member and one day fit the control rods so you can see how she originally operated, with my ‘basic’ level of knowledge it will take some time to attain this goal!

I now realise that not everyone may be aware of what a Martinet control column ‘boot’ may look like so AP extract attached for reference. A locking bar would also be useful 🙂

Cheers Tim. It would be great to display the Martinet and Sturgeon target tugs together some day 😮

    Rob,

I fear I am along way off from that but never say never, both have a long association with the FAA so who knows……it would be fun.

    Dear All,

Apologies for the old thread but the Martinet pedals and control column are nearing completion. I am still missing the rubber boot and if anyone has one kicking around in their spares box I would be very interested, the boot was also fitted to the Master.

    Kind regards
