The Dove being operated by Conciair that is avialable for charter, pleasure flights and their D Day tours is VP981 (G-DHDV) on lease from Air Atlantique Classic Flight.
Was indeed G-BNPH on its monthly “warm-up” flight. Found a long time ago that it is cheaper and more fun to fly it each month through the winter than put it in a hangar and then spend the spring trying to fix all the snags that six months inactivity brings.
As to WP321 slow progress is being made. The project had a set-back when it was found that despite running well the port engine needs some fairly major surgery before it can be cleared for flight. This is ongoing as we speak, otherwise the aircraft is in pretty good shape.
Aces High G-DAKS is now N147DC and has been since 1998.
Also there is ZS-MRU at Dunsfold not airworthy at present but in the process of being returned to the air.
Ex Air Atlantique G-AMSV at Coventry status unknown.
Museum wise ex Aces High G-BHUB at Duxford. One at Cosford, and the ex Aldershot machine.
Also used Pink Lady and the Aces High DC3 N147DC
No we didn’t fly today still awaiting some parts from the US. Plan now is for the 12th or 13th. Still hopeful will be ready for Duxford on the 17th.
I think you will find it is the Bournemouth Pembroke not Air Atlantique’s that hasn’t flown for a couple of years now
Totally true however the asking price is £40,000 !!!
Unfortunatly the owner of the ex Southend aircraft now at North Weald is demanding a totally unrealistic price for the aircraft !
Or Compton Abbas
Percival Sea Prince WP321 G-BRFC. Just going out to continue work on it today
Soko P2 Kraguj ground attack aircraft built to be operated by inexperienced pilots off short strips. 340 HP Lycoming engine very loud very quick off the mark and very slow. There are three or four in the UK but only one airworthy at the moment I believe.
Excellent pictures as usual Nick all we need to do now is get her in the air – just a little job
Dont think “Sally B” is going to make it – still no news on a replacemnet engine yet. But Pembroke WV740 (G-BNPH) will be arriving Wednesday morning at 0900 Local – pretending to be a Sea Prince – hopefully the real thing will be in attendance next year
Both the Sea Prince and Pembroke will be staying with DeHavillands at the airport
Having got one Sea Prince out of the weeds would be nice to do it for a second but does not appear to be much hope of that at present. “Restoration” at Lasham seems to mean slow destruction by the elements.:confused::mad:
