A nice drawing showing the layoud of Zeljava Air base.
Some more photos of Zeljava underground airfield of the ex Yugoslav National Army that got destroyed as the hostilities began.
Photos taken from : http://web.vip.hr/majabedic.vip/
The cammo is differet as well. Could be from a different squadron, maybe?
At first look, it looked like iraqi flag, hehe.
Its camouflage is different as it is probably one of original ex JNA(Yugoslav National Army) airplanes that was used by Croatian Air force. The rest of the Mig-21s that Croatia uses were obtained from Ukraine,hence different camouglage scheme.
Also,that airplane has a large Croatian flag on its tail,again i think because it is an ex JNA machine and the large flag was used to differ the airplane with the Mig-21s used by Serbian Air Force. The photo is a bit blurry and therefore you cannot clearly see the features of the Croatian flag.
I suggest that you ask Hawk 75 for more info as he will probably know.I did my best:)
Does anybody know if South America has any of these underground facilities or underground hangers and bases?
Thanks
As far as i know,there are no underground bases or hangars in South America. I think they are simply not needed there.
Fuel cell reaction uses oxygen,it doesnt not produce it.
Anode Reaction: 2H2 => 4H+ + 4e-
Cathode Reaction: O2 + 4H+ + 4e- => 2H2O
Overall Cell Reaction: 2H2 + O2 => 2H2O
Nuclear submarines especially have air filters built in an i do not see what is the problem with normal diesel submarines having the same. Think also of the ISS (International Space Station),those guys must have air filters as there is no other source.
Great photos, thanks. Looking at the first picture I was wondering if anyone knew what the object on the right was. It looks like part of a wing.
I think it might be a part of vertical stabilisatior or rudder.As you know some Mig-29s were damaged and probably parts from these were salvaged to be used as spares.
I am sure that if they offered the right price,and sale conditions,they would be able to export them and make more profit rather then simply scrap them. There are at the moment quite a bit of conuntries looking to renew their airforce.
I don’t know. Did the Koenigsegg beat it? I’d heard the Veyron is governed at 257mph. Clarkson was saying you could give a McLaren F1 a head start to 100mph and the Veyron would still beat it to 200. IF you ever get the chance to see the Top Gear episode with the Veyron jump on it. That car is like the F-22 of cars. I don’t mean that as a jab or anything. I mean that each piece on it is pretty much the best money can buy. It could use some work in the look department though. My current favorite though is the Zonda F.
Bugatti has a special key that needs to be turned in order to let it go to its max speed of 407 Km/h.The car gets lowered,spoiler comes out,the wheel gets even stiffer and basically the car gets to use all of its 1001 PS 🙂
Wonder what F-22 should do for its price, then…. 😉
It would put the whole Red Light distcrict in Amsterdam out of business hehe 😀
im wondering does anyone have any info or pictures on the underground hangers and bases that Tito made for him and his freinds and family for the cold war to survive a nuclear Bomb.
Search on this forum and look in this thread.I have posted many photos of underground airfields in ex Yugoslavia and Serbia.
This shows how even the smallest detail can render some state of the art equipment useless for some time.The more complex things become,the more prone are they to malfunction.
I think the question I’d be asking if I were the pilot is “what the hell are you guys going to be doing that you’re worried about starting a FIRE??”
At that moment i am sure he was thinking that its maybe safer that he pulls the ejection handle:)
Blah Blah Blah. As Germans would say it “Kwatchtante”. Both of you,dont spoil my thread. You can comment the photos in here,the other stuff are for general forum.
hahaha 😀
Funniest thing I’ve read here so far! :pWas the plane just landed from a mission when this happened?
As they say it happened at 8:15 AM ,i belive that it was before the sortie. 😉
No, we just never heard anything about it for a long time. Then it appears out of nowhere on the Su-35BM model 🙂
Thats good news! I was always of the opinion that the missile had a good potential,especially when used against AWACS. :diablo:
