are the serbian mig 29s yet in russia.
No,they arent.Hopefully now that the state of the union is resolved, they will be shipped there for the planned overhaul by the end of the year.
A nice photo of ex-Yugoslav AF Mig-21
Special unit’s helicopter during exercise.
Nice photos.
The question now arises is where are the units from Monte Negro going to be relocated?
Given that the Orao fleet is from what I understand nearly grounded, would Ladjevci AB be a likely candidate?
Ladjevci AB is a likely candidate,as there is infrastructure for such type of airplanes there already. It is also in the process of rebuilding and upgrade as it will become a mixed military-civilan airport.
“This is done by tinkering with the nano-scale structure of the metamaterial, not by altering its chemistry.”
And people think the F-22 is expensive. 😮
But wouldnt possesing a cloak be priceless? I mean the element of surprise would be guaranteed.
Here’s some of the Hortens they had at the museum, and a Do-335.
Thanks a lot SOC! I have put NASM on my “to visit” lit and i am hoping to do so in the next couple of years.
Is the Ho-IX (or Go-229) still in storage? It is a pitty that they have not renovated that airplane.I can imagine how amazing it would look like, with two jet engines in the wing roots, you could call it a first stealth airplane in a way.I wonder why they are letting it just rot 🙁
Some more pre-1990s Galeb G-2,G-3 and G-4 photos!
Last but not least, better views of the Iraqi Mig-23 that got overhauled at “Moma Stanojlovic” facility and presently displayed outside the Air Force Museum at Belgrade airport.
Action photo of J-1 Jasteb over Slovenia with two unguided missile launchers under the wings. Check out the M-84 tank,APC and a truck below.
J-22 Orao transported by rail and during refueling.
Mig-29UB during 1989 during the visit of a group of Air Force officials.
Some more of the F-86s 🙂
A lot of J-22 Orao fuselages at UTVA factory. These were transported from Mostar factory in 1991 to UTVA.
Two Galeb G-4s during overhaul at UTVA factory in Pancevo.
The rest are unfinished airframes that got damaged during the OAF.Some were damaged more, some less as you can see.
I do not understand however, why these werent moved to a safer location(probably they werent able to),as UTVA was one of the most likely targets.
Sole An-26 destined to be overhauled along the Mig-29s in Russia.
Lineup of stored Galebs and Oraos at Batajnica AB.
