Plus, they also have or are about to have

    Scorpene Submarines
    118 Panther 2 MBT’s
    Eurocopter Panthers
    Harpoon Block 2
    Aim120 Amraam

Thats quite a powerful military. Chile also has a good reputation in terms of the quality of some of its forces as well. Apparently there have been complaints from some of their neighbours about the build up. I guess Chile is taking advantage of the high Copper price.

Would the range of a Concorde have been much greater than a Vulcan or Victor at that time ? Also if a concode flew part of its ‘mission’ subsonic was its range significantly increased ?

Additionally that pilot is under orders from the airforce as to what he can and cannot do, the Russian manufacturers test pilots probably are not. I have a suspicion that this is the reason I have never yet seen a truly impressive Eurofighter display (I have only seen about 4 though) yet the ‘experts’ tell us that it can pull out the stops, if required…………….

They will probably just call the dog ‘boy’ in on screen conversation, or something similar so that they get round the name issue.

According to the letter Des Browne sent to the Guardian yesterday, the defence budget is increasing well above the rate of inflation. He did imply though that some budgets were having to be temporarily cut and others increased. I guess the MOD is no different to any other large organisation in that respect

I would be much happier if it was Peter Weir rather than Jackson. Weir is a known stickler for historical authenticity.

Just imagine if they could get all the taxiable/moveable Lancs in one place for the filming 😀
