    Hello Ant,

    I was not sure until recently but I discovered the Hellcat was painted briefly in Royal Navy markings. I believe it was in 1989 / 1990.

    Raybourne Thompson’s Spitfire is actually a LF Mk.IXc. She is registered as N959RT. She flew with the 302, 329 and 165 Sqn during the war. D-DAY and MARKET GARDEN veteran. Later sold to the Royal Netherlands Air Force and acquired in 1994 by its present owner.

    Supermarine Aero Engineering is also reported to rebuild SL611 which crashed in the late 40’s killing its pilot, Donald J.O.Loudon
    Correct me if I’m wrong.
