Indeed, many congrat’s …….
:p
It was also mentioned in Aeroplane Monthly…
Albert, isn’t that aviation shelf title the “other aviation magazine” Robert refers to ?
Or are there lesser publications that hold that status ?
*Disclaimer: Other aviation titles are available (from WH.Smith) :diablo:
You could ask Pete McQuarters at the Ashburton Museum, as they imported the cockpit of WH734 to NZ.
😉
(Not too good at inserting hyperlinks I’m afraid- but it’s e-bay item 300094883994)
🙂
They’re about three miles away from me at someone’s house, but I haven’t seen them – a mate of mine is friends with the owner, apparently he just has the nose section to restore now, and has sold parts like a wing etc – a fuselage section was sold on ebay a year or so back
C’mon Rob, you know the story really….
Dick Nutt dispersed everything, with the cockpit section going to Steve Milnthorpe who wasn’t interested in anything else (the center section later sold on eBay as you say)

Same group selling this….?

No recollection of any 110’s going down in the waters around this fair island, several JU88’s and the odd HE111, as well as several different RAF and USAAF types…
Ian,
Not a ‘real’ Me110, we are talking about the plot of the story and the use of a mock up similar to the one used in ‘Monarch of the Glen’.
See this thread about such TV replicas……..

The aircraft in last nights episode certainly had a long glazing section with an upward hinging hatch, while the plot revolved around all & sundry recovering some items Goering liberated in 1940. The good guys won !
.
Isn’t that the same episode where Jim visits an aircraft museum on Jersey and it is filmed up the Shuttleworth’s back passage?
Melv,
Yeh, i flicked through my VCR recording this morning. AR501 was prominent although not much in the way of Me110, only underwater. I’m sure i’ve seen a Bergerac episode where the fuselage is pulled from the water in a harbour though
.
We briefly touched on such replicas in a recent thread…….

…. so thanks for the heads-up to refresh our memorys. VCR duly set 😀
