WooHooooo!! love the picture of the red tractor!!!! WoW…
I loves trakdurs i does….. but wots that big black oily thing hangin off the front??? Oh i dunno, i could be wrong but it looks a bit like a Packard Merlin 38 with a two stage supercharger, stromberg carb and hobson automatic boost/mixture control…. but hey wat does i know, i’ll just go back to lookin at me trakdurs. :diablo: :diablo:
Now that was funny !!! 😀 😀 😀
.
Firstly apart from my mistake about airframe materials the rest of my comments have been generalisations, not exactly Jag specific. I was actually refering to the RAF & scrappies. GAM has a Jag of sorts, although it is a little unwell..
I’m sorry, i thought this was a thread/discussion about surplus Jaguars 😮
I’ll go fall on my sword or something…….
.
…. but most of the instruments are then bought by other dealers who hike the prices even more which means people who genuinely want parts to present a credible exhibit or their own private project end up paying a flipping fortune for items all said and done should have been there in the first place. Bex
Really ? Where have you seen Jaguar parts for sale then ? And for what Jaguar projects ? Only a very small number of Jaguars have yet passed into the private market that i’m aware of.
.
They Got it and apparently it is under way by sea to aussie!
Peter, wonder if it’ll pass the Anson bits coming the other way ? Two ships in the night and all that…. 😀
.
Can’t see anything about PM quota being affected
.
I meself have NO hope of posting pic’s again!
I will be deleting for a year if I am lucky! 😮
I feel sorry for the newby’s, they are going to miss some mighty nice thread’s!!!!!!!!
Yes, there is hope. Just register a fresh ID.
May i suggest STORMBIRD262′ ? And you’ll have a fresh quota for posting pic’s instantly. 😀
.
Hmmm… wonder how much of the flight deck is still in situ?
Worth trying to save perhaps?
Hmmm….. read my mind Jon. A bit more of a concerted effort required this time perhaps ?
Yay or Nay ?
.
….the fate of XM603 seems to be sealed, however, sad though it is….
Any clarification yet what that fate is and likely timescale ?
.
By the way Moggy, I was pretty certain .303 bullets do have explosive in them, hence why it goes ‘bang’ when fired and shoots? Plus it’s a lot more dangerous to hit a live .303 with a hammer than an inert one!
Rob,
I think you’ll find Moggy (and Elliot) is referring to the actual head of a bullet, which is a solid mass in most cases, not the cartridge end which of course go ‘bang’ when its hit…….
Here’s a link to ‘After The Battle’ magazine’s contents list that James mentioned…….

I’ve never seen the wings, but thats not to say there aren’t any, as the whole museum is based in three adjoining Nissen type huts and everythings a bit hemmed in.
As a result there’s bits of Horsa scatered here & there in various diorama’s. In fact one section of fuselage forms a ‘tunnel’ as you pass from one building to another !
There is also a replica Storch rear fuselage & tail that IIRC appeared in a Pink Floyd video. Great place though. Add it to your holiday ‘to do’ list next year folks……
There’s one in a military collection near me….

….which gravitated there from the late Charlie Mann’s collection in Cornwall when it was auctioned off……..
Cheers ol’ bean, already spotted (and i think i already have one) 😀
