Very nice photos indeed. What did you have your flight in?

I could hardly say that, now could I?! Pot, black, kettle comes to mind! 😀

In a recent shot of me in the back of a Auster 9, I look like the Hood in Thunderbirds. Least in this new photo there is something better looking in the background to take your eyes off the sun glaring off my bonce!

Thanks again for your help on Saturday, I really enjoyed myself, but am now suffering from a bout of ‘Broussard Knee’ from jumping in and out all day long. (Not that I’m really complaining of course….. :)).

Thanks guys. Just posted some photos from yesterday’s scorching day at VL in the Photographic Section.

Ummm, I noticed (including a rather fetching photo of myself taking out the empties!).

No, seriously I had a superb day out and would like to thank everyone for their assistance and help throughout the day, from the gentleman that assisted with our flight order, Jeremy ? who obtained some oil for us from historics, Doc Holliday and John Beattie for eveything else and to all the helpers too. The best service I have ever witnessed. Thank you.

In total the Broussard flew 44 very happy and contented passengers. Here’s to next year!

    Best wishes to all,

    Martin

Good to meet other forumites including Consul and Mr Howard. Seems the beer crate photo (Newcastle Brown) I’ve been told, is going in our local flying club newsletter as a caption competition. People can be so cruel at times, can’t they ChampMagic?:)

    A good egg!

Have milk crate, will travel… :p

Perhaps Egghead is a bit closer to the real me – I blame my parents!

I saw this rather dubious character climbing in and out of the Broussard all day long!!

Well if you see someone walking round with flourescent waistcoat and camera in hand, it will probably be me – say hi!

Hope you have a good day.

Well, if you see a baldy bloke in a green flying suit going the other way, then it could be me!

Just been passed the same establishment as in my last post and they had 12 TSR2s on the shelf.

Asking how and why, I was told that they had been delivered earlier in the year and they were now clearing the warehouse of them. I found it all a little hard to believe and at the magic price of £11.99 each too!!

    Best wishes,

I was born in Redhill, Surrey and my parents had a house which was close to the airfield there. Earliest memory for me is seeing yellow biplanes flying over the road on which we used to go for walks. Must have been about 3 then.

These I suppose were the Stampes and Tiger Moths of the Tiger Club. Seventeen years later I was to fly in a Tiger from Redhill to Booker – funny how things come around.

Well…………….I went to the gentleman’s house and after looking through 700 or so boxes came away with….9. It was a hard decision on what to have, but basically I just took away models of things I’ve ever flown or flown in and ended up with 2 Chipmunks, 2 Harvards, a Piston and a Jet Provost, a TBM-3R Avenger, Bird Dog and a T-28B Trojan.

I’m going back again for another look soon, but if anyone else is interested the owner said they are more than welcome to go and have a look. He’s aviation mad as much as we are and I found it was well worth the visit. He anyone is interested to know more, please PM me.

    Best wishes to all,

My Dad worked on the project, but he’s never really talked about it though…..

Will have to ask for his thoughts on the subject.

I’m off on Monday to go and have a look to see what is still in ‘the collection’. Will report back……probably come home with one or two I bet too.

    Best wishes,

Well I’m off first thing in the morning (to beat the holiday traffic) to a shop further down west, where they have a number of Chipmunks on the shelf. I know I might be being a little too keen, but rather get them now, then wait for someone (hopefully) to bring the kit out again.

    Martin

Well it was easy getting there….most of the traffic was going the other way. The shop did a wonderful job with my pesterings over the phone the day before, and when I got there, 6 Chipmunks were waiting for me. Bought a Islander too just to add to my been in list.

Getting home was a different story.
