Dave T – thanks for letting me know about the Matchbox Walrui – just thought they were worth a little more than they are. I stand corrected 🙂
See that Revell are releasing a T-6G? Wonder what the original is, as the kit shown is in Harvard Mk.4 markings and therefore should have a different canopy. Probably won’t as the terrible Airfix one of old had a Mk.IIA/III canopy when was meant to be a Mk.IIB.
It cant be the Heller moulds as this is the new Airfix re-release. The only one I can think of is the Academy version. At £3.99, wonder if I can buy them in quantities of ten!!?

Latest update is that I have received an email from the Local History Group who on my behalf made a visit to the garage and made some enquiries. It seems that 6 Austers in total were purchased, all from somewhere in Wales (St Athan) and all were delivered on trailers made up from old caravan chassis. The 9s were too wide for the trailers and so had to have their undercarriage legs strapped together so that they would fit on. All went onto other people, but someone remembers that the last one ‘simply disintegrated’.
As to the Swift this was also purchased by the Garage and became a local landmark. Most of the village children used to play in it as it still had a complete cockpit upon receipt.
Best wishes,
Martin
I’ve started to make enquiries, but where exactly is Fremont?
There isnt an airfield at Fremont California, but there are another two such named places in America in Colorado and Ohio. We will get there in the end!!

Don’t remember seeing that outside the Squadron? 🙂

Sounds like a brilliant idea. As to the cleanest pilot award, I’m not so sure, as when I go Chippy (Chippie) flying, I have a terrible habit of standing on the seat first and then finding later in the day I have a dirty backside. I just cant figure out why? 🙂
Best wishes,
Martin
I’ve just discovered two Matchbox Walrus’ (or is that Walrui) in my loft. So what with the Revell re-release does that make the originals worthless? (I know I will buy more though!!).

Umm best result for me is Elf Try – perhaps would be better if they saw how tall I was. (But then sometimes wish I was smaller, cause then I could have fitted in a lot more aeroplanes – I’m blame my parents!).

Hope you have a good one, maybe open a bottle of wine and watch your favourite film!
You can be so cruel at times…….but then again, sometimes I enjoy a good weepie!!

I’ll probably end up with something not connected with aviation. Always do. Best thing I’ve found is to buy your own presents!

The RealAir Spitfire Mk.XIV
Very nicely done……good to see that Susy is returning ‘home’ for the day.

What a nice photo…almost looks like a period shot. Just by looking at the aeroplane it is a AT-6B,C, D or SNJ-3,4,5. Very difficult to tie down the exact pedigree from the shot taken here. Will try and find out what it exactly is and report back.
