Hi TT,
So for those of us not in the know, what are G-BKRN & GTOMC (thinks hope its an F14!)
Steve.
Beech C-45 Expeditor and a North American T-6G Texan (and not the one I’m hoping for either (well not yet anyway)) :).

I can’t imagine the unkind comments were to be taken seriously. Mine certainly wasn’t!
Oh believe me, some were very unkind. Think one chap complained to Anthony Hutton and wasnt seen again! It was nothing to do with The Squadron, it was just between me and Paul. As simple as that. I’ve had it since when having other flights, but you get to ignore stupid comments. Some people want something for nothing and I’m afraid it doesnt always work like that.
Best wishes,
Martin
Bodmin offers free landings to members…hey hang on we all own the airfield!!
Martin
Hands up if you hate T6flyer!
Come on, not eveyone at the same time, I cant count that high:)
The flights were ‘payment’ for researching the histories of the two aeroplanes. I was first asked to do the Chipmunk (BBMV) and then the T-6G (DDMV). When discussing something on the phone one night about the latter, Paul very kindly offered the P-51 at the same time. What an offer and what a kind gentleman. He will be missed by a lot of us.
But I have to admit there were a lot of envious people that day and some very unkind comments were made my way. But thats life, isnt it!
Best wishes,
Martin
If it was the USAAF Fly-in and I think it was judging from the photos, the exact date was the 28 June 1992. I know this as this was a red letter day for myself having rides in Paul Morgan’s G-SUSY and DDMV.

I know its a bit late, but here as promised are a few new photos of No.208 (G-YYYY – the ex Utterly Butterly example) taken on Christmas Eve on its way to Dunkeswell. Photographer is Jeff Houlgrave.

Happy Birthday!!
Best wishes from another Auster fan,

And he also purchased a few Firefly cockpits
Think this was a complete airframe as remember seeing it along with two Piston Provosts at St Merryn when I initially went to see the Spitfire rebuild. Firefly from what I can remember was sold at a later Duxford auction and went to the States.
Whilst there that day I asked for a flight in the Spitfire when completed and was told that it would be £200 for 20 minutes. After that I cut grass, painted walls, washed cars, only to find when had the money that the aeroplane had relocated to Goodwood. Not having the means of getting there, I spent the money on my first stereo. That lasted a little longer than 20 minutes much to the dismay of my parents!!

I read an article in another well-known GA magazine.
It is apparently possible to get a gizmo for FS2004 which consists of a sensor for the top of your monitor and a little marker you can fix to a headband, baseball cap, or just glue to your forehead if that takes your fancy.
Moving your head then pans the view out of the cockpit in synch. Turn your head left to look left, turn your head right to look right.
Simple.
Can’t be bothered myself, but if you are a really keen simmer it might be worth investigating?
Moggy
Moggy, think its called Itrack or something like that. Looks interesting and about £100, so might invest in the future. Am a bit of a simmer, but only props and vintage, but this might be the thing to help flying circuits etc.

Very interesting photos. Note the one on the left is one of those Lincoln freighters. From what I can remember three were converted for use in Paraguay but were never delivered. I may be wrong, but am sat at work and havent got any references to hand.

Well it had to happen……Santa somehow provided me with a copy of Traffic 2005. I did try the Project AI as suggested and managed to get this to work, but I’m finding it a lot easier with the commercial package. Didnt at first and just got the modern airliners, but have sussed it now (took ages) and now have a sky populated with the likes of Broussard, Twin Pioneer, Auster, Chipmunk, Harvard and Prentice. Frame rates dont seem to suffer too much (only if have some well built sim aeroplane), but on the whole are very pleased.
Best wishes,
Martin
My sister gave me some traffic package for FS2004, which initially was full of airliners, but after reading the manual I realised that you can use other aircraft and so my skies are now populated with such things as Twin Pioneer, Broussard, Chipmunk, Auster, T-28 and Harvard. A lot better!!
Apart from that nothing….I used to have an Uncle who worked for Bristol and up until the age of about 13, used to get wonderful aviation related presents and then when I was 14, it was horrible market aftershave etc etc. My parents this year gave me a garden gate!! Wow!!
Best wishes,
Martin
T6F should be posting some pix for this thread, Melve too probably, think he has a broussard, a beaver or a target drone or something 😀
Umm, I think I have almost every Broussard photo going, as when researching the history of 208 (the ex Utterly Butterly Broussard) for its recent repaint, I think we have virtually looked at each and every example for either guidance or inspiration. Unfortunately, I am away from home at the moment and therefore unable to post any photos, but will try and send some on at the weekend.
Best wishes,
Martin
Airfix finally releasing a mainstream injection moulded kit of the TSR.2 after 40+years.
.
Hopefully, there will be some available in the shops to buy as I believe nearly all have been sold as pre-orders. But then, I cant blame anyone at all. My Dad worked on the TSR2 in the 60s, so it would be nice to get hold of one when it finally comes available.
Merry Christmas to all,
Martin
(Sat at his parents house, having eat far too much!)
