Just to let you know that we have sourced a canopy although cracked for the Seahawk and soon this will be on it’s way down to Cornwall.
All we need to do now is to find a photo of it in Royal Navy service. Got plenty of it when with Airworks, but none in frontline colours!
And Gatwick sounds good. Will PM you Dave.
Best wishes and thanks to all,
Martin
Seen it about 10 minutes ago when popped over to CAHC from Gateguards (who built the replica). Getting a bit gloomy here now, so will take a few photos next Monday when am back here for work (in my lunchbreak of course).

Didn’t the OFMC have one at one point?
Indeed. The same one as in the recent photo. They bought if off Anthony Hutton. Must dig out my photos.

Ground crew then was Rob Paulding and Colin Wingrave. I only helped out when I wasn’t messing with a certain Grumman Avenger or with Intrepid Aviation.

Love the way that they take off at Duxford and then mix and match with a display at Blackpool. But still a very good insight into display flying in the 90s.

Flight in the Percival Vega Gull G-AEZJ.

Just found out via my good friend Shane Clayton, that the ex UK replica is now registered as N700JR and is registered to JR Consulting NV LLC of Midland, Texas.
What happened to the one Gary Numan used to fly?, and while on the subject is he still flying now? Remember seeing both him and the plane at a display at Rendcombe in the late eighties/early nineties.
Gary’s ‘Zero’ was a stock Harvard Mk.IIB ex FT323, and then B-19 in the Netherlands before becoming G-AZSC. He did at times flew the TTT replica that Anthony Hutton purchased in 1988 which was N15798/A1-110 and previous to that an ex-RCAF Harvard 4 before conversion. Believe that now resides in Australia. Am at work at the moment but will try and dig out some photos this evening.
Gary is no longer flying and is now living in Los Angeles.

I’ll give the resident T6 expert a nudge.

And he did, via a Facebook message!
I believe these are the only two in Europe. Will have to check, but both are European built examples and not TTT replicas. AZRO used to be F-AZDK and was a conversion for the film ‘Empire of the Sun’. F-AZZM was I believe built in France and is reported to be a ‘AT-6B’ underneath. Will have to look further into this as not many Bs made it to Europe. Sweden took delivery of at least nine between 1951 and 1953.
I would never call myself an Expert. Just someone who has spent over 35 years with the type and learnt a few things as I have gone along…..

Think I have a copy somewhere. I flew with both Gary and Norman and groundcrewed on a number of occasions, primarily at Duxford and North Weald. Happy Days!

Thanks, not clued up on Spitfires at all. They say you learn something new everyday, well think have had my weeks quota today
Martin
Edit: Yes, should have read Seafire’s post more slowly. Apologies.
Many thanks to everyone for their replies, again so much appreciated. Didn’t realise that the breach was within the cockpit and that acccess to the starter itself was only possible by removing the starboard panel. Perhaps should have thought a little more before putting fingers to keyboard. Least we have shown the blister to be rivetted in place. Done one thing right!
Best wishes,
Martin
