    Moth Major

If you build a DH-60 Moth Major, you instantly solve the engine problem. My mate Mike did just that in NY!

    Query??

I’m fascinated that the props seem to go backwards at one stage in the video before settling down to turning forwards…any thoughts on why?

    DB,

You’ll only see her if Mike brings her out in the open. He has thoughts on her future, but best left to him to advise. As the builder, he looks after her well.

I must have missed something. Where are the Shack’s extra two engines to give it 8??

No, the AI Connie at that date would have been an L749 using -B series engines. Even if it were an L1049, it would at best have had -D series.

Our Connie has the -93[mil] or -EA3[civil] series engine. We’ve just secured another 4 for spares, so we’re probably ok for a while.

    Nope, sorry!

Err…no we won’t…it’s the wrong series engine.

    Awe??

Must be a very dangerous operation if the CAA haven’t approved it with these complicated ex-military aircraft which couldn’t possibly be operated by CIVILIANS!

    Oh….of course, it’s not in the UK…silly me.:p

    From another place

    Quote:

“PAF is being prepared by HARS to ferry to Albion Park for a future life in the HARS fleet.

The missing outer wing arrived at IRA last week for a centre spar repair in the HARS workshop.

    Hopefully airborne early next year giving HARS a Connie,a C54, 2 x C47, 2x Neptune, a GrummanTracker, a Catalina and a Convair 340 by next year.

Along with the DC3/C47, the DC4/C54 is probably the most historic type in the country, having been operated in Australia by the USAF,ANA, Ansett,TAA, Qantas, BCPA, Air Express and PAF in Australia from 1942 to 2002.
So a very fitting aircraft to be preserved and join the airshow circuit. The big question is what colours will HARS paint her?”

Filled the space faster than I thought, but keep watching! 😀

What’s more, it’s a UK airline term; rest of the World tends to use “u/s”.

    G’day 😉
