    QANTAS never operated DC-6’s mate.

    G’day 😉

    A question?

How much difference would it make to spectators if the minimum display height were raised to, say, 100ft? The low passes at VERY low level down the runway are great, but for my money, hard to see through the parked aircraft and from anywhere but the front row.

    G’day 😉

My UK based daughter picked me up a pair of cufflinks at Covent Garden markets with what can only be an Avro 504 on them.

However, the innovative “stealth” move of the Season was my younger son borrowing my memory stick for a presentation [he said], and the two of them taking photos from the files thereon of aircraft I fly plus personal flying shots and mounting them in two frames. A delightful montage and so unexpected!!:D

G’day and a Happy New Year to All;)

    IH,

If you’ve a supply of these, there may be quite a few interested parties. However, don’t kill the Goose; there are alternatives at a price.

    G’day 😉

PM please on the supply chain?:)

    In short, the Gipsy!

The REL 38 series are no longer produced and are a shade hotter than the ’37’ in current production. Originally, Gipsy’s had 12mm plugs which have a tendency to foul, but a 14mm is a better choice. Our conversion to 14mm on the outboard engines has been an unqualified success.

Interesting that you have one. The late Ed Clark from Hawthorn CA basically bought up all the stock and was the only man anyone knew who could supply them.

    Hope that helps.

    G’day and Merry Xmas;)

    She’s Home!

Just for the record on this forum, VH-[E]XBA returned home this morning, touching down at 0900 at SKSA to a very warm welcome.

Dedication? At the ceremony, my wife was sitting next to a wife and daughter who hadn’t seen their engineer husband/father for 7 months. And “they” said she’d never fly again?

    Hearty congratulations to all involved!!:D

    G’day 😉

Indeed, the Old Fart has the story correct!

Copy from an em; “Sorry about my initial confusion on the text’s, can you believe it, I lost track of what day it was!

Looks like just one T/Flt on Saturday, then we wait on the weather to allow for the 2nd T/Flt – with departure the day after that.”

We Aussies have some hassles with time-zone change at times!! 😎 It ain’t always easy operating on the “Far Side of the World.”

Perhaps camping on the boundary of Southend somewhere for the weekend might work?

My apology, but perhaps it will save “Gooney” from turning up and actually having to use the bucket and spade.

Good luck with the viewing and again, apologies.

    G’day 😉

While the shape may favour the Pig, aren’t the windows too big?

I’d never given the Pig a moment’s thought, but will search a bit harder on the DH-61.

    Keep ’em coming; thanks!! 😀

Good luck getting engines out of museums. I tried and the answer was “we don’t want to diminish the value of our exhibition”. BTW this included swapping the engines for the same variety, but unusable. Undetectable to the eye of the observer.

    Gold Star to GASML! 😀

We had to leave before the awards but I guess the Luton would have taken it out.

The Genairco restoration is just excellent, but they must have been a bit thinner a few decades ago to fit two in the front seat [the harnesses are there, though.]

    G’day 😉
