i make no bones out of my interest, i really couldnt care less if someone labels me as an anorac either, 1 they don’t understand 2 people ho think this way are normaly insular or closed minded or just plane thick (got one of these at work, he said to me “whats the point” i said “the same as you spending the day whacking a small ball around as an excuse to get away from the missus and to suck up to the bosses by letting them beat you” his reaction to that was brilliant, the rattle went streight out of the cot HEHEHE) not that i have anything against golf, i was just making a point. if anyone shows an interest in aviation i’ll answer questions but don’t try to convert them, so to speak. and not ram my hobby/obsession down their throat.

first memory, vague image of looking out of possably a pram or somesuch and seing a wall and terraced houses (moved into a semi with my folks when six months old – before that in a back to back terrace, strange huh )

tresured possetion, got two, 1 model boat made from perspex and brass from the remains of a crashed spitfire during WW2 and given to my mum when she was young.
2 grandads (on dads side) pocket watch, it served him troughout WW2 and still is in good working order and has never been restored or serviced.

first ambition, fighter pilot, had to start wearing glasses at 12 and that shot the sh*t out of that one so then wanted to work on aircraft, done that for a job and for a hobby

specs (see above) german army shirt with arms cut short and a B1 test team patch on left sleeve (to cover a welding burn), jeans and trainers

fried egg and cheese sandwiches gotta be runny eggs and loads of cheese

probably being me LoL, not shaving, i hate shaving cos it gives me an eczma flare up sometimes

first ting i remember about aircraft is watching the viscounts on approach to LBA around 1970, also going to my uncle allans house and he was making a model DH2, i remember him telling me about this type and he gave me a model spitfire MK1, my father built for me (the old revell kit) after that i was hooked, also i learnt that my grandfather built aircraft at preston and my grandmother on my fathers side worked for AVRO at Yeadon building Lancasters and my grandfather flew in gliders during the pegasus bridge raid, must be in the blood really.
    best regards.
