it is sad that there seems to be no memorial to this crew there, and that the ‘grave robber’ is allowed to remove parts of the aircraft without getting prosecuted, wouldn’t it be better the remains of the wellington should be removed and placed in a museum rather than leave them to the vultures!!!, if this is done i will help with this venture if i can, i have a four wheel drive that could be used if need be., also what would it take to have a memorial there?, would it need to go through the RAF and local authority?.

will have a looksee right now, i have fond memories of flying in chipmunks when i was an air cadet, would love to trace the four i flew in, one i unfortunatly don’t have the serial for though, another that i flew in (and is the cause of an entry in my logbook recording 5 MINS!!!!!) now flies from Brieghton so i am told,

slightly off topic but does anyone know if these markings for “Ropey” are available for a 1/72nd scale model? i have got five unmade (and one almost completed) model lancasters and not decided on all the markings yet, those i have decided on are ! gibsons dam raid aircraft (almost complete) 2, (617 grand slam) 3,9 sqn standard B111, 4, Hendons S-sugar, for another i am thinking of converting it to a lancastrian, any other ideas folks?
