aviation wise i read a book titled Airbridge, by (iirc) Hammond Innes (sp?), i think that would make a good film,
non aviation, When the wind blows, by James Patterson.

Hi Starfire, from what i have heard neither type exist now, unless you count a heyford that was buried beneath a runway at (iirc) upper hayford. i’ll have a looksee on the net for interior pics for you but i think the RAF Museum will be your best bet for interior pics of these

cheers.
Greg
nice, thanks for sharing.
Greg
thinking about this, did the B17 have the ability to carry such a heavy load? i seem to remember reading theat the B17 had a load that was roughly half that of the lanc (could be wrong though) also from some footage i have seen one of the aircraft lost by the USAF during the highball tests was i belive an A20 havoc/boston type.
best regards.
Greg
acording to a book i have in the loft there was also a six engined lanc B2, four bristol hercules on the wings, a dart or mamba in the nose (can’t remember which) and a jet engine (viper?) in the tail with a dorsal intake.
hope this is usefull, if you want more info on this or any of the other testbeds give me a shout here i will dig out the book.
Greg
