just bumping this one back to the first page, looked for it but couldn’t find it so i started it again on another thread.

from what i have read they would have been better off sticking with the Sperrin, even if it does look more workmanlike it flew without losing big (and rather important) bits of airframe. also wasn’t it just as capable as the Valient?.
Greg
cool, should we meet at the flypast stand?
Greg
not sure on this one, i’m off to Little gransden the weekend before so it depends on how busy we are at work really. hey may spit the dummy if i take two weekends off if its busy. i’ll try though.
Greg
well, i’ve booked this day off work. not alot to stop me going now 🙂
great pics, thanks for sharing,
Greg
awesome looking aircraft, Saab aircraft always stand out from the crowd, i espcially like the jet version on the b/w pic.
i am almost cartain that there are non flying.(unfortunatly)
Greg
i’m working on a flying model chipmunk from a kit that looks similar to this one but at the current construction rate it’ll be finished in time for the 200th centenery of flight :0

must admit, i havn’t looked at whats going to be there, it spoils the surprise :). would have taken my old landrover as part of the vintage vehicle display (it was made in 1961) but it chewed its overdrive last weekend an without it its 35 to 40 mph MAX!!! it’d take me about four hours to get there. looks like i’ll have to slum it in the Saab 9-3 turbo cabrio then 😀 😎
Greg
Good one AJ, curiosity didn’t kill the cat, just got you a good pic instead :).
Greg
Hey Ashley, you look very pretty to me, don’t put yourself down.
on the subject of cats heres smudge looking for the compuer “mouse”
on the subject of RAF phantoms, we all know how much good re-engining the phantom did, as one RAF phantom jocky put it, what happens when you spey a bitch?, it gets fat and slow.
RAF phantom, the most powerful, the most expensive and the SLOWEST of the phantom fleets.

cheers for the info on the lost prototypes, i didn’t know there was three of them. it was the one in the solent i had heard about. incidentaly i was chatting about these aircraft on another forum and one of the guys on it described it as a “flying catfish” thought it was a pretty apt name myself.
