Robert thats not particularly helpful. I am well aware of that situation and it was dealt with the day after that article was published as there had been some mis-understanding over who had been promised the aircraft. The two people involved have been in touch with each other but the whole aircraft never made it back into one spot due to various logistical issues. Please use the PM system for this kind of information as to not cause defamation of anybodies character. Ta.
Hi Dave
Nice to see the photos, but i wish people would stop speculating and leave
things to reach their natural conclusion.
A sore throat and cold have got me now!
Ah well , best of luck, hope to get a progress report some time
Bye bye Les.
Hello Les, currently confined to bed with a bad case of man-flu, just got out to check web. I will ring tomorrow. Things are in place for the move just need to confirm a date.
Cheers,
speak to you soon, just get well again
Les.
I had a good chat today with Les and I have agreed to take on the project and will hopefully be moving it to the St Ives area next week – fingers crossed! Anymore clues as to the whereabouts of the fuselage would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
Hi DGH,
Will you please get in touch again, either by phone or forum.
Would like to know what the plan is.
Les.
Dave,
Contact me via our other channel – I may have some information that will help.
Tim
Where have you been, hope you can help.

Good lad lot’s of luck.
I’m pleased to read that it appears that it will be a case of all’s well that ends well. Maybe, in the fullness of time, DGH will be able to keep us in the loop as to the future of the Owl, particularly concerning whether he traces the fuselage and is able to reunite that with the parts that Les has.
Let’s hope so.
Hey, let’s hope it happens………….it would like to see the whole a/c
Planemike
So would i LES.
IIRC the chap with connection to the fuselage has dealings with Air Britain – I think I’ve spoken to him in the distant past but that is all I can recall.
Cheers.

So would i its about time .
Has anyone yet taken up your offer, Les?
DGH seems interested fingers crossed.
Thanks for your interest .
Les, if they need a home and you don’t want any cash for them then I can find a home for the parts in Fenstanton, Cambs which isn’t a million miles away from you. I’m sure it would make a good project to try and get the whole thing together again but I’m not the richest bloke in the world!
All the best,
Dave
It is a good project , and they are for free.
I just hope that you will be able to locate the fuselage.
Any more info, just ask.
Les
Yes it is odd that the prime poster’s one and only official visit was to post his message?
O ye of little faith.
Thanks for posting again to set the record straight and also for taking the trouble to contact the forum when many would have simply scrapped the parts without bothering to see if anyone was interested.
Thank’s for the word’s of encouragement LES.
Les, my apologies for the hint of doubt! There have been “wind ups” on this forum in the past and I’m glad that this isn’t one.
If not for the fact that the Tawney Owl parts are in the UK and I am not, I would be very tempted to take up your offer. I can only hope that someone else does before you have to scrap them. If you can offer some contact details for he who has the fuselage in Powys, that might encourage someone to take your parts in the hope of being able to reunite them with the fuselage (if it remains extant).
Apology accepted , many thanks LES.
Tawney Owl
Hi RAF Millom
The wings etc are located in stevenage herts, but unfortunately there are
not any tail booms as these were damaged and were disposed of quite early
on after the accident .
Hoping that whoever knows the whereabouts of the fuselage can be contacted.
Keep up the good work, LES.
