Hi Lotus 72 … just back from a nice trip round the M25 🙁
I’ve just read on the TVOC forum that it’s a no-go today, as both the firetrucks have broken down.
The Vulcams are showing her still in the hanger with most of the lights off now.
Sad, but at least it means that next week will be almost as exciting as this one has been!
Hi Lotus72,
At the moment, nothing to report – she’s still in the hanger, intake covers and shoe covers in place.
Jim
I think everyone is doing similar!!
There’s been over 100 people viewing the Vulcams most of this morning … the anticipation is killing me … just wondering how quickly I could make the drive from East Grinstead to Bruntingthorpe … :p
Hi Paul,
I found these two links:

I know it’s a long shot … a really long shot, but my mother got a flight in G-AZZZ on Saturday – has anyone got any pictures of the pleasure flights, in the hope that there’s one of her!
I sadly couldn’t make it 🙁
Jim
I agree with what you’re saying Charlie.
However Aeroplane Heaven set the bar with their freeware Seafires, that are beautifully modelled and textured.
I just find it disappointing that the Spitfire pack they produced with Just Flight isn’t up to this level (forgetting the Real Air Spit).
I for one, would have been happy to pay considerably more for the Spitfire pack being to Aeroplane Heaven’s normal levels of modelling and texturing.
Jim
Well, my copy has arrived, and what an utter disappointment. 🙁
After the downloading the Seafire freeware from Aeroplane Heaven which has beautifully and accurately modelled aircraft, great VCs, and terriffic sounds, I was expecting great things from the Aeroplane Heaven / Just Flight collaboration, but it’s failed on many levels.
Whilst there are nice effects in the VC cockpit, the textures are plastic and amateur.
The aircraft themselves vary in accuracy, but my favourite Spit (Mk22) is wildly inaccurate. The tail isn’t even close to the shape it should be, and the tail wheel looks more like a retractable version of one from a MKV!
The sounds are cheap imitations of what they should be, and even in external views, do not sound like either a Griffon or a Merlin.
The guns are a nice effect, but I can’t see the point in FS2004 to be honest.
All in all, a great disappointment.
Daz, I thoroughly recommend you downloading the Real Air Version, as I downloaded it last night, and standalone, it is awesome. In comparison to the Spitfire pack, it is LIGHTYEARS ahead in terms of quality, realism and flyability.
Jim
C’mon the suspense is killing me; any screenshots or first impressions??!
I had mine on order at Amazon but they said it was going to be arriving sometime next week…… can’t wait!!
Jim
Nice one Zwitter – great shot!
Ever the optimist, me…
The glass isn’t half-empty. It isn’t even half-full.
It’s just got twice as much capacity as it needs!
😀
Surely if they are legitimate buyers (who knows?) they would be better putting that money into the Vulcan to the Sky Project, and getting regular rides in it when complete.
I know that I’d rather get a ride in a flying Vulcan than having a rotting hulk somewhere in my garden (estate?)
Daz,
I’ve searched everything I have, and nothing.
I’ve found the attached image at:
Air Venture
It might be worth talking to David Pride and seeing if he has any more.
Jim
Just to add my tu-pennies worth; I’m just happy to see her flying, gawdy colour or not.
Whilst the advertising won’t neccessarily lead you to overdose on caffine and ‘taurine’, at least she is in the air.
It’s also been quite a revelation to have my non-aircraft-loving girlfriend point out the Sea Vixen to me, and further more, for her to ask me about it; it’s history, it’s background, what it did etc.
It’s certainly a lot more than she’s ever asked me about ‘authentically’ painted Mustangs, Spitfires and the like.
If she’s indicative of the general public, and their response to this magnificent aircraft, the colour scheme can only (and ironically) be a good thing.
Jim
Thanks Mark – I thought you’d have the answer!
