Worth noting that by BoB standards he was an old man – he was 29 at the outbreak of the Battle, having served in the RAF for four years. He was commissioned in April 1940 and on November 1st was made acting squadron CO – that’s fast, even by wartime standards.

Wing Commander Bunny Currant, DFC*, who flew R4118 in the Battle, has died. Full obituary in the Telegraph

“The remains of a Hurricane that he flew during his time on No 605 were found in India some 50 years later and restored to flying condition. It will fly in salute at his memorial service.”

Edited to add his DFC and Bar

I’d call Kermit Weeks and say “How much for the Mossie, Kermit?”

I got to learn out of that side door whilst we flew over scotland, a rather enjoyable thing for a 14 year old (at the time) to do 😀

And what, exactly did you learn? :diablo:

Pah! Post 9/11 no-one was flying. I booked with Easy return to Nice from Luton for £38.50 inc taxes – £0.0575/mile! Guy I sat next to on the way back had paid £400 return booking three days before (there was a big conference in Cannes that we had been to) 🙂

Believing your own publicity is one of the later stages of commercial madness. MH may also have been playing too long on FS for his own good – all those hours in front of the PC have been translated into real hours in his all too vivid imagination, so he now thinks he was actually flying fare-paying SLF all that time.

The write-ups in the Telegraph etc. confirm what he already hoped, that he is a truly successfull business person whose bag of commercial fairy dust is full to bursting. He will in time realise that the airline business is too small for him, and will launch Alpha One car hire, Alpha One Mobile, Alpha One Bank, Alpha One cruises and perhaps even Alpha One ladies underwear.

Soon he’ll be on the panel of a reality TV show about business start-ups, and then we will know that he has finally disappeared up his own fundament.

That my dear friend is a load of cr_p – FTP won’t “fail under pressure” as FTP is the technology used to move files to/from servers, and has nothing to do with dealing with high traffic loads on web sites. Your web team are bullsh!tting you, and making you look far less than the pro you want to be.
