If I was American, I’d vote for you.. 🙂 As an European, it does not concern me as much but I feel Israel needs a serious slap on the face. Nothing personal or anything against Israeli individuals but this has gone too far. Israeli officials openly talk on TV about assassinating individuals that do not fit their scheme (French and Egyptian nuclear engineers, the Canadian developing artillery shells for Iraq back in 80s etc.) and no one cares because it’s Israel, WTF???

So the thought of Islamic extremist regimes armed with nuclear/intercontinental range weapons, is less distasteful to you, than Israel preventing that outcome? They’re the only western democratic style nation in that region, providing a useful counterbalance to regimes not known for their benevolence, or goodwill to the rest of the world.

Maybe because they ARE EU already? 😉

If there is no mutual support for Euro nations, then why bother with EU, at all? Let’s dissolve the crap and go home, then 😉

So a prerequisite for joining the EU is giving up national sovereignty for the “greater good?”

I second that, i believe we have all been fed with exaggerated numbers, given the tiny seeker of AMRAAM.

Again, we don’t know what range the shot was taken at, what mode the AMRAAM was operating in, etc…

Nah, even if they had influenced this (which of course is speculation) it’d be enough to play this quietly and not overdo things. Spreading seeds of doubt is enough in this case.

I mean, the Canadian ice hockey team winning against the Togo team 30 times in a row won’t catch anyone’s attention. That is expected. But leaking that during some recent test game Togo surprisingly won, might just send some B team scouts there, setting their eyes on players that could be “nearly as good” or “remotely competitive” for a lot less money, or at least thinking that the AAA team players aren’t what they are cracked up to be. In any case the Togo players may suddenly seem like an alternative at least worth considering, even if just for a moment. And, sometimes, a small window of opportunity is enough.

I find it particularly interesting that the fact of it being an AMRAAM kill has been shared, which basically boils down to a simplified “Yes, the Raptor can be shot down by radar-guided missiles” in a blunt way, which for example stands in stark contrast to the quote of a pilot being able to see the Raptor, without being able to get a lock on it.

That’s why the lack of range information, or what mode the AMRAAM was operating in are pertinent(yet unknown).

To claim the computing power of F-18G being the reason is the worst possible situation for F-22.

That all depends on the range the EA-18G was at, and what technique was used.

The interesting thing is that was killed by a radar missile, meaning that the active radar head (which is not very powerful) is considered capable to keep contact -in the worst case- at WVR

The funny thing is all the reaction, “no impossible it was a pasive missile” “but the 18g is a supercomputer”, etc..even “why did they put decals?, seems extrange..”…funny

NO ONE said anything about anything being impossible. The majority of us simply have decided not to speculate, and draw conclusions when we don’t know what we’re talking about.

It most likely wasn’t a 1 vs 1 kill, with an F-22 and EA-18G engaging in a dogfight. We don’t know the range the F-22 was engaged at. We don’t know whether the missile was in active or passive mode, etc….

As for the EA-18G, that’s one of the most sophisticated aircraft of any type flying. It has very powerful ESM/ECM systems, a very capable radar, and a very capable AAM.

I look forward to seeing the F-22 pic with 30 EA-18G roundels on it’s side (better use stealth paint).;)

Boeing slaps LM in the face (again), good for them!

    That’s pretty funny.:D
